BestBuy S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

For those NOT seeing your order online, are you BB Reward Zone (or whatever they call it nowadays) members? I know that as a member, you can see all of your in-store purchases. Not sure if they do that for everyone else, though. Just a thought.

I didn't think I was a Reward Zone member but in store he asked for my phone number and it popped up. But I am still not seeing anything online?

Samsung gives you the value of your trade-in plus $50 towards accessories. Best Buy gives you the value of your trade-in plus another $100 off the phone, if you're going the carrier route

Does anyone know, is there any advantage to going the BB route vs the samsung.com route?

If so, I can cancel the samsung.com order I have in.

For me it was an easy decision to cancel from Samsung because I realized after the fact that you can only pre-order one phone at a time ( I ordered 3) so the other two were put on "hold". Other than that, if the Best Buy you purchase it from receives it on launch day you can pick it up instead of waiting for it in the mail.

What happens if you decide to return the new phone and have already handed over your old phone for trade-in? Do they just give you a gift card for the value of the trade? Obviously you would not get your old phone back.

I’m very confused because both Best Buy’s by me told me I had to pay for the entire device up front if I wanted the unlocked model. It has never been that way before. It’s pretty ridiculous in my opinion.

unlocked phones have no carrier associations, so they aren't eligible to be financed, unless you buy it directly front a carrier. Do you have a best buy credit card? You can finance the unlocked phone thru bestbuy. They offer 24 months for the s10

Preordered an unlocked version in-store yesterday. Did not pay a dime, they emailed me and gave me a reservation confirmation via paper as well.

It was nagging me that trade-in wasn't part of my order/paperwork from last weekend's in store pre-order. So I gave my local BB a call. They said they were in the process of calling all who pre-ordered to have them re-do it, over the phone or in person. They said I'd not loose my place in "line", they'd just re-do the order to include sale price - less promotion - less trade-in amount with reduced total to be financed. My current order doesn't have any mention of trade-in value. They also said that no down payment of any kind would still be necessary. FTR, I'm get an AT&T branded phone. Hope this helps.

All I got was an order agreement your order has been reserved and what I ordered and that they will notify me when to pick up. Mine has no price or anything on it about trade in. It just shows I reserved a 128 unlocked S10 plus and he said I will get 550 off when I come in and they will reset my phone for trade in. I asked over and over so you will take my unlocked S9 plus and I can buy outright the S10 plus? I was told yes! I hope it all goes smoothly and I do get it on the 8th cause I am off the 8th.

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you have your physical pre order recite and your confirmation email, your good.

If you do Verizon version via best buy, can you pay additional amount on top of the trade in value as down payment and just have a small amount as 24 monthly device payment. And then pay off after few days? I have around $397 worth of best buy gift card so after trade in I'll have a small amount to pay if it's S10+.
Thinking of Verizon version as option since updates are faster on that over unlocked model.

Also, if I do Verizon version any other discount other than the usual $550 device trade in? Currently have the unlocked model on reservation.

This might be a strange question. I'm currently with US Cellular and want to buy the S10 unlocked from Best Buy and trade in my S8+. Since they don't have US Cellular as a carrier there I want to be able to smart switch some of my stuff from my S8+ to the S10 before leaving the store. Will they let me transfer my data before trading in my phone?

I was hoping to be able to check my order status online. The one time I did order through Best Buy they had no idea when they were getting the phone until it showed up. My friend is a manager at one and worked the cell phone department for quite a few years and he said it's hit or miss with the store when they get them.

It's odd too that in my area, when you call in to my closest BB the phone is answered by another store and he claims he answers calls for the 3 surrounding store?

I was able to get my BB pre-orders to show up on my Order History page. Sign out of your account, select Order History as a Guest, enter your order number, name, etc. It then gives you the option to sign in and add the order to your account. Hope that helps some of you.
