Bionic's still coming, is defintely new hardware - XT875

So you think phones are on the top of the to get list. Most kids already have phones in high school.

Lets see here. Shiny new phone or clothes and food and spending money? Shiny new phone or books and school supplies? I would think a brand new smartphone is at the bottom of the list.

Besides that let's say it was. Are parents going to buy a Bionic over let's say the Charge, Thunderbolt, Droid 3 or any other non LTE smartphone? And why?

I agree I Sam a college studen(pay for my bill and my phones) but most kids get a phone before they go back to school so their parents can pay for it. If Verizon waits too long kids will be back at school and most likely either not upgrade until they are home for a break or just stick with what they have.

Shipwrestler I think you are a heck of kid. I mean that. I think its pretty cool that you pay your own bill and pay for your phones. A responsible young man. Pretty cool :)

I say this because I know some pretty lazy kids that do nothing except live off of mom and dad. Even paying for one thing shows a responsible attitude. I'm my opinion at least.

I pay for all my stuff I want and sucks working all the time when all the other college kids enjoy summer but i hate asking people for money lol.

I know what you mean shipwrestler. My parents didnt want me to have a phone but after I started working at 16 I went out and got one. I still remember that Nokia. Lol and I had a full unlimited plan for $50 too. Those were the days.

Yeah now you can't get anything for those prices. I remember when they didn't have unlimited texts and then finally changed lol

Dude your parents are teaching you responsibility. There is no better lesson in life. You will thank them later on in life when your earning well over six figures and living life to its fullest.

Trust me :)

Agreed

I just figured out what's going on with this phone. Motorola is about to deliver something phenomenal. They're about to give us a phone with a pure Android experience. That can only be truly accomplished with a phone that has a processor with 10^100 cores. That's right people. We're about to get a googol core phone. They've outdone themselves this time :p

This is not the question to be asking here but ill sum it up for everyone so we can move on and talk about the bionic.

If she wants a very user friendly device she will find the iPhone to be very user friendly much more so than Android. Out of the box iOS is just easier.

Android has a much steeper learning curve. That's something all of us can agree on. In the end its her choice.

Ok back to the Bionic.

Andy is the better OS in the long run. But iOS is easier to use from the beginning. It's probly better for the less tech savvy. I helped my in laws get phones, and they started with the X2, but my mother in law couldn't grasp it. I told her to get an iPhone.

I think that I will skip the Bionic unless this third revision brings some more impressive upgrades to the hardware. My OG Droid has been faithful and even though its starting to go the way of the dinosaurs I just don't feel comfortable without clean vanilla android. I sincerely doubt that this new Nexus phone will end up on Verizon even though it has Lte because both AT&T and Sprint are getting Lte networks in the near future so I may leave verizon all together. Besides, helping the network that, in my opinion, has the best Android devices and Android policies will go a long way towards the reemergence of vanilla Android Devices

I'm hoping the new Nexus gets passed onto Verizon next. Seems logical that it will but logic rarely plays a role with these things.
