I don't know why everyone is so assured it won't come out in June, and July is still almost wishful thinking. Has no one considered the possibility that Moto and VZW have simply decided they don't want anything leaking until this device is ready, and as soon as it is it will be released? The original Bionic was nearly complete, it was just fatally flawed.
Sources indicate that the redesign was based on an existing device already in development, so its fully possible that the redesign could be completed in the time of just a few months. Remember, Moto has nearly everything riding on this, as the Xoom and the Atrix didn't take off as planned, and they don't have anything else major for the near future. VZW has a lot riding on it as well, as they're certainly aware that they're being outclassed on devices, and they would love to have a phone that matches the very best devices on the market that includes LTE, to beat them all. (One phone to rule them all, heh

)
I can definitely see them not wanting ANYTHING to leak yet, because they won't know for sure when it will be ready until it actually is, and they don't want to hype it again and then have something else beat it to market and steal its thunder (no pun intended). Yes, its frustrating to people like us, but it makes the most sense based on the average consumer, who doesn't know about a phone until they see an ad or walk in the store. Both companies know all the sources we get reliable information from, and the executives could either keep details from those individuals, or simply give them an NDA preventing them from telling us anything. I greatly appreciate what people like BMX and wnrussell do for us, and I certainly wouldn't expect them or anyone else to lose their jobs just for the momentary adoration of random strangers on the internet.
The fact is, this phone will be irrelevant by mid-fall, so I don't know why everyone is assured it won't release till then. Both companies have too much riding on this to let that happen. A phone can be passed through the FCC as little as two weeks before release, and training documents and inventory can wait until less than a week before if Verizon really wants to keep it a secret. I fully expect that both companies are trying to get this device completed and fully tested as quickly as possible, and once both companies agree that it is complete, it will be released. It makes sense to keep everything under wraps until right before its out, considering that they don't know themselves when it can be released. And considering all the factors at play here, I think mid to late June is a perfectly reasonable time frame to expect this phone to launch.
