Update: We just realized that the phones are pictured in the same order as the infographic in the upper right hand corner, which would make that bottom gray handset in the above photo the rumored Targa -- or so we think.


So it makes sense, if Bionic/Targa is the one in the picture right there then i am a happy man. Well as long as if comes before tiered data, cause then in that case i dont care.

checked BMX's twitter account and he says the Bionic will not be released before tiered data. I don't know how much weight to put behind it but from what I gather, BMX seems to be reliable with his info right?

was waiting on the Bionic in hopes that it would be released before tiered, guess I'll jump on one of the current LTE devices out currently.

Seeing as it's been speculated in this very thread that BMX works for Verizon, I'd be a little skeptical of going by what he said - Verizon probably wants the Bionic to be "the" device everyone will flock to... RIGHT after they change their Data plans to lock you into the new pricing. While his comment may be taken both ways, they sure as hell won't want anyone with that shiny new phone, paying old rates.

The Charge seems to be the next best device to go to at this point in time. 2 more months is crazy for me since I tend to upgrade/add a line whenever I see fit. Tiered data with Bionic or Unlimited with Charge now?

The choice is yours. Im going with Charge. Although ill still get that at a later time, cause 300 is too high atm.

I'll bet the first one listed (Slimline) is the new Photon for Sprint that's being announced June 9th. Sprint seems really excited about it. Design wise it would be different from other phones in Sprint's Android line-up. If not, I would imagine it's at least one of the phones pictured in that graphic.

Funny thing about that Slimline, I could swear I recall seeing another mock-up that looked like that, but people were totally unsure as to whether or not it was a real phone design.

The Targa/Bionic looks very Moto Droid-like. Would make sense for Verizon's line-up.

I talked to BMX last week on Twitter and he confirmed Bionic would not be out until late August. I asked him if a Charge would still be a good choice because I didn't wanna miss out on unlimited data, and he simply told me to get the Charge, and that I would be very happy with it. So he never outright said to me that the Bionic would come out after tiered data plans, but he certainly didn't tell me otherwise, and seemed to confirm my assessment that it would not be out by then.

I would say that the most likely scenario is that unlimited data will end in a month or two, and the Bionic will release in late August with the new tiered plans. Of course we won't know until VZW says something official, which they're not likely to do until right before these things take place. Again, please note this is all speculation on my part, but it is definitely educated speculation, based on what little info we have from previously reliable sources. It was enough to convince me I should go ahead and get a Charge, no sense waiting 2-3 more months just to find out the Charge is still the best I'll be able to get on unlimited data, so when I figured out how to buy one for $149, I jumped on it, and am very glad the waiting game is over for me.

Same here! If I didn't care what the future holds, i would of gotten a Droid X2 already. But the rep at my verizon store said 4G was coming to the rest of my city (the north side has extended 4G but the south doesnt =/ ) by the "end of summer."
So i'm waiting for 4G and the Droid Bionic by "the end of summer:" =//
