Rag on his post all you want. I applaud his effort to tell Verizon exactly what he as a customer thinks. Verizon is the ONLY carrier who has NOT launched a Nexus Phone with a pure Google experience. Will they continue on that path, I bet they will. The only reason I stick with Verizon is because AT&T sucks and Sprint just doesn't have the coverage I need in my market.
That said I have my Charge and I am locked into my unlimited data of course I am still waiting for 4G LTE to rollout sometime in the next 6 months.
In the end he did what most don't do, sent his unhappy comment to Verizon and everyone knows Verizon could give a hoot, but at least he felt better. Oh and Sprint may just work out better for him, people in my market tell me AT&T rocks all the time, they smoke crack too is my guess.
Again, once you switch to 4g, your data usage goes WAY up. I've now used 5.1 Gbs so far this month, and still have a week to go. Granted, I look things up on my phone alot, and tend to grab alot of apps, but aside from a little Youtube and Pandora streaming, I don't really do anything that would be considered a huge data hog. I'd say its about average for a technology enthusiast who's excited about playing with his new phone, but I don't expect my usage to drop that much either.
So I'm no data hog, and would already be paying $70 for data this month if these new prices are to be believed! That's ridiculous to charge that kind of money, but its even more ridiculous to introduce a revolutionary new high-bandwidth network technology, and then prevent people from enjoying by forcing them to sip data to stay under their caps.
Again, your mileage may vary, but I would advise most of you who are still waiting to grab a Charge with unlimited now while you still can.
The likely scenario is no, because on the leaked pics, it says only smartphone upgrades to another smartphone.I know the tiered pricing info is rather new, but I was hoping for some help in understanding it....
I am currently using an old model flip phone (don't ask), I am eligible for a renewal but want to get the Bionic yet lock in unlimited data. Tonight I spoke with VZ (the rep didn't even know about tiered pricing yet) and added unlimited data on my flip phone even though I technically won't be using using it.
If I wait for the Bionic to come out, lets say August and then sign my two year contract using the Bionic, will I still be eligible for the unlimited data on 4g?
Any replies will be greatly appreciated
Are you suggesting that if you use the same amount of data on 3G and 4G, it totals to more when its on 4G?

Nope. You would have to be on a smartphone data plan.
That loses a lot when you stop to realize all their stuff is actually manufactured by outsourced Chinese fabrication plants.
That said, I too find value in handsets that hold up well, and actually have good reception. Moreso than the ability to replace its OS with an OS made by Tom, Dick and Sally.

Feel free I love poking holes in everything you say hahahahahahaha.Maybe everyone should just be grateful I didn't lay into CK again, but others did such a splendid job in my absence I figured it best to let sleeping dogs lie. lol
Not all. Motorola has production facilities around the globe. Most American companies outsource. That is a function of our standard of living and lower labor costs abroad. That tide is turning, though. Currently with our high unemplyment rate, and the fact that China is experiencing high inflation, at some point those jobs will have to come back here
Feel free I love poking holes in everything you say hahahahahahaha.
You have an "emotional attachement" to Motorola I don'tI can speak freely, honestly and without prejudice.
I wait............
Okay, couldn't help but notice this before I finished reading the rest of what I missed.
Darlin', you didn't even poke a pin prick, let alone a hole, in anything I said. Please. Really. Self adulation is not attractive. Self deprecation is far more enrapturing...but, gosh, what do I know? lol
Thanks brotherwe all may not agree but I think we all have valid arguements. I haven't come across anyone on this thread that didn't have a good opposing arguement.
Motorola fans are often level headed. Fans of another manufacturer, who shall remain nameless, go on the attack like you've insulted their mothers or something
Props to all the fine gentlemen on this thread is all I have to say.

Self adulation? It's called poking fun at you. Come on SharonW lighten up! I'm having a laugh at your expense.
Now if you want to "lay" into me, as you say, please feel free. If it makes you feel better I'm all for it. Don't be shy let it all hang out![]()
I just ask that you take a few deep breaths before putting fingers to keyboard. You're very agitated tonite. A touch sensitive if you will
No. He's saying that the faster speeds allow you to do more, so you end up using more data. (which is absolutely true)
Think about it; if your new data connection is as fast as your home internet, are you really going to use your phone the same amount as if your phone is as slow as DSL? (or slower)
That's part of the problem I have with Verizon's tiers. They assume that you're using the same amount on 4G as you would on 3G, which is absolutely not true. They need a separate set of tiers for 4G that offer higher data allotments for the same prices. (So instead of $30 for 2 gigs, you would get 5 gigs for the same price, and so on) The biggest flaw right now is the allotments.
Then why are they the same price? Not disputing what you are saying, just asking.
Exactly. Things load so much faster that you don't even notice how much more you're using. I download apps in a matter of seconds, I download attachments and click links in emails, download files directly on my phone and put them in my dropbox rather than waiting until I get home to my computer, and stream Pandora and Youtube in high-quality with no buffering or lagging whatsoever.
LTE is actually really awesome, I have to give it to Verizon for that. You get used to using large amounts of data without even thinking about it, and there are many times that I'm sitting in my bedroom with my laptop right next to me, but I'll still just use my phone because I don't want to bother opening the lid and waiting the 10 secs or so for it to wake up.
And considering its actually several times faster than the slow DSL I'm forced to use where I live, I have little reason to switch to wifi unless I want to save battery. But my bedroom is pretty far away from my router, and I get 4 or 5 bars of LTE, so honestly there's not much battery savings for me most of the time.
So obviously the same amount of data is going to be the same amount of data whether you're on 3g or 4g, but the fact is you will simply use much more data once you have LTE, it truly changes the way you use your phone.
Also, why is there a need for everyone to lay into CK, Sharon? I'm not taking sides, its an honest question. So he doesn't want a Bionic anymore, big deal. I don't blame him, 6 months, 3 revisions, and a Droid Charge later, I don't want a Bionic anymore, either. My personal opinion is that I question Moto's leadership, and really wonder about their ability to provide a quality device anymore. And this is also a matter of opinion, but I personally think Pentile screens look awful, and I don't think an OMAP4 would make up for having 4.5" of that in my pocket for the next 2 years.
I know most of this debate isn't taken seriously, I'm just making sure it actually stays about relevant topics rather than against a particular person's opinions. Again, I'd like Motorola to deliver a quality device, as I love good build quality, and I know that many of their devices seem to be very well optimized for battery life and get a strong signal. But considering that even those traits don't seem to be characteristic of the Atrix or DX2, I'm starting to think this is now a different Moto than the one that brought us the OG Droid.
