Bionic's still coming, is defintely new hardware - XT875

Droid Attic says their Insider is claiming the Bionic is due for a July release and BB's mobile buyer guide will have the Bionic on the cover, then leaks pictures of D3 release date in BB's system.

...and is called a fraud that wants traffic to their site.

Although all their info should be taken with a grain of salt, i say they have been doing a good job with the information they have, ill bookmark their site and twitter for now. Lighten up people, i know we have been burned before but you want to hang the messenger right away, acting like a girl that had 1 too many a-hole boyfriends in the past. :p

I hope they are right, but I doubt they release the D3 and Bionic that close together.

Unless...........Maybe its a dual release on the 14th of July

Wishful thinking

I can't say that wouldn't be awesome. That would help me make my decision up much sooner. :)

Hell, I still put their credibility over Oxn now.

I can't believe Oxn did that with his post yesterday. And this after i stuck up for him on his last promise of info. I think I'm gonna get a t-shirt made that says 'Make the world a better place, punch an Oxn in the face'

Grrrrrrr

Why do they look like they are straining to poo? I just had a hemorrhoidectomy and thats what I looked like the first week. The only difference would be my jet pack was powered by pain and tears.

Sharon you are right it was unfair for me to say you attacked. It was a bad choice of words. So I do apologize.

I've never met a female wordsmith like you so no it wasn't obvious :) I guess how emotional you get at times should have been a dead giveaway lol.

Wonderful! We all be good now. :D

And in deference to your confusion over my posts in a venacular you deem not common to women, I've created a visual aid as a reminder to my sex. Consider it in the nature of the graphic novel, or more likely therapy for those suffering from memory loss or Alzheimer's. lol It's a pic I use under another nomen on Disqus. I am now officially avatarized on AC.

Oh, and it's PASSIONATE not emotional. Kthxbai.

I read how Moto supposedly tweeted to be patient they were working on new updates and the whole journalism world translated it into a third version of the phone. Geeeeesus!

I mean, it could be but talk about a play on words. Guys, I have spent time on the witness stand in front of some pretty educated talkers and saying we are working on new updates to me means new updates, not a new design. Heh! I guess a 4.5 display would validate that.

You guys know my deal, the fat lady has to sing it. I hope she is in tune. The end of waiting eh!

no, i wasn't referring to you. as you will note, i quoted only Droid800's post, and did not quote any of yours. i recognize the "disagreements" between you and CK to be more light-hearted banter (if not outright flirtation ;)). also, i started out by saying "dude", and you've made it quite clear you are NOT a "dude"... :p [as an aside, contrary to what my username suggests, i am a "dude" - my daughter's name is kate...]

as for the timeline, you are correct as to the "official" announcements. however, in June 2010, Sanjay Jha promised a dual core phone before the end of 2010. didn't happen. and, shortly after his announcement (if not before), unofficial leaks of the development of this device began. so, it has been close to a year that some of us have been following the development of this device.

as for delays, i think we can all agree they have occurred. the Bionic was debuted to the public at CES, and was said to be coming in Q2. Jha actually stated, in Feb i believe, that the Bionic was "still on track" for a Q2 release. but then rumors surfaced of flaws in the Bionic, which Moto denied. but, lo and behold, the Bionic was scrapped. the phone that is now being released as the Bionic, is actually the Targa, which was already in development by Moto (and targeted for a Q3 release). it's a completely different device. luckily for Moto, it hadn't officially announced the Targa yet. so, Moto was able to "spin" the Etna cancellation and say that they were tweaking the Bionic and changing the form factor, in response to "consumer demands." i call BS, but whatever... regardless, you maybe should do some research before claiming that i have given "inaccuracies" - i don't go off half-cocked, and everything i have stated is, in fact, accurate.

you and i may have different definitions of "revolutionary." the webtop came out with the Atrix. and the other specs of the Targa, while impressive, are not what i would call revolutionary - they are very similar to the Atrix. consider a recent study, released a couple months ago, which noted that the "life" of smartphones currently is about 6-8 months, before they are supplanted with new and improved tech. by the time the Targa is released in Aug/Sep, its specs will be 6 months old. on top of that, we are looking at quad-core phones being released within months after the Targa comes out. to me, all of this counters against any conclusion that the Targa is "revolutionary" when it comes out. but, that's just my opinion - you and others may disagree, and i completely respect that.

as i've said many times before, i'm not trashing the Targa. right now, it's still at the top of my list for my next phone. but, my enthusiasm for this device has been tempered in recent months and weeks, given the problems, delays, and revelation of specs that, while impressive, don't blow me away when considering what other manufacturers are doing (e.g., the rumored Nexus 4G). all i'm saying is that i'm going to be careful before jumping on the Targa bandwagon. i love Moto devices, and i hope that when its finally released, the Targa will be worth having for 2 years.

You know what's cool? Do ya? Huh, huh? Getting to know people while you're all discussing an obviously common passion. ;) It's way better than some tech sites where everyone is so either so reserved and impersonal, and face it, so overly occupied by engineers (sorry engineers) discussing minutia of engineering details you want to blow your brains out from sheer boredom. Case in point...whoever that dude was on HoFo recently going on and on and on and on with exceedingly lengthy prose about pentile. Cripes, there were almost mass suicides over that one. Then there are the Apple versus Android sites (accckkkkk). The very same arguments over and over. Engadget is kinda stuck there.

Anyway, I come from that odd space in the universe that occupies existence in two parallel universes. I know how your average consumer thinks and understand a good deal of the tech discussions. When you say this product is late because you've been waiting for it for a year, it gives a false impression to your average consumer that the company involved is THAT f-ked up. I don't think a CEO getting cheeky with the techies should count. He's teasing you. He merely dropped a veil and hadn't even begun to dance yet. There wasn't any official announcement of a specific product. When there was you were given a timeline and right now they only look to be behind that timeline by two months.

Soo, we be good, too then? :)

I agree, we are just getting dual core phones and OMAP 4470 a 1.8 dual core is coming out in Q1 2012, OMAP 5430/2 is coming Q3 2012 and is a 2GHZ dual core, but we are getting quad cores in a few months after august? I think people are expecting the release of these WAY too early, not to mention we are just getting software to handle these dual cores.

Agreed. I think CK enjoys setting himself for disappointment, regrets and recriminations. ;) I mean, heck, Nvidia announced Kal-El just a couple months ago and said it would be ready by August. That's just to go to the manufacturers to get all familiar and cozy with it. Tegra 2 was announced in Jan. of 2010 and didn't see its first actual device outing until Mar. 2011.

Sometimes too much knowledge can actually be bad for your mental health. Waiting for that bestest ever smartphone can turn into Waiting for Godot.
