Bootloader Petition

Forgive me if this topic has been made before, but there is a petition going on that I'm just finding out about to get Motorola to unlock the bootloader. Thus far there have been 2500 signatures & I'm thinking this thing needs more push!!!! Anyway enough of me, here's the link!

Nope. They will continue to lock their bootloaders and people will continue to buy them.

I doubt they will..but you will never know until you try.. Won't kill anyone to sign it I don't think..

Def won't kill anyone but looking at the big picture, what is the percentage of people need the unlocked bootloader compared to people who buy the phone to use the phone just the wait it is.

I did sign my name btw.

Now that HTC has a locked bootloader as well, (even though it has been unlocked) companies are going towards that direction.

Don't really see this going anywhere. More people are happy with their stock phone, launcher, kernel, etc. than there are people that want unlocked bootloader. Moto won't change. :\

a big chunk of what, the motorola market, its like less than 1%, meanwhile good luck getting 25,000 signatures

Not the entire Motorola market, but it's a good chunk of the Motorola Android Phone market.

I'm not saying it would work either, but 25,000 would garner a little more attention than 2,500.

I smile every time I think about it. One of the best PR blunders evar! Their hollow and empty follow-up was a whole lot of good meaninglessness to boot.

I think with the right amount of publicity a petition like this could maybe shake some things up. I think we, the consumer often forget how much power we hold. Long story short, will it work? Probably not..but the only dumb question is the one not asked.

I'm sure the number of signatures would jump If something like this made the homepage. Lol but alas I am but a simple dreamer. But anyway...we have nothing to lose.
