Cannot identify the cause of high battery drain.

I have a Huawei Mate 10 pro and have been using it for about 9 months.
I used to have amazing battery life with close to 8-9 hours of SOT ( and still had like 20% remaining never really went too low).

Recently I have been getting a battery drain of over 20% per night even if the phone is in doze mode.
I tried every method of finding out the battery drain and could not find it, assuming its a system bug i reset the phone but it did not fix anything.

I have wifi scanning and data always on turned off , so it disconnects mobile data and wifi if the phone is not being used.
I have just factory reset my phone and am posting screenshots of all my battery monitoring.

Please help me identify what is causing this battery drain.
 
Yeah don't see anything from there , what I'm thinking is something in system that's hidden from these battery monitor stats , if you dont mind can you post a screenshot of the stock battery stat monitor.

Installed whatsapp, snapchat, reddit etc this morning just to get back in touch.
 
Also - and so far as I can see you haven’t tried this - does the drain persist with the SIM removed, and WiFi enabled?

Well, I haven't removed the sim but I put it on airplane mode and then turned wifi on and it still persisted.

I am going to try this now and report back in a few hours.
 
It’s also occurred to me that whatever the phone is trying to do, Doze may be interfering with it in an abnormal way. It may therefore be worth testing with Doze disabled....although your first post suggests that you may have tried that already.

I didn't specifically disable doze. Is there a way we can do that? I don't think I have any access to doze since its an android process.

The nearest to it would be Battery, overflow menu, Battery Optimisation, then switch that off temporarily for all apps.

actually, there were a few processes/apps that were exempt from battery optimization. I just enabled those maybe this helps in fixing it, will report again.
 
Ok, so I just removed the sim , restarted the phone and enabled wifi.

I guess that means that it was trying to connect to a carrier signal, and could not without a SIM. With mobile data switched off as well, it would presumably be unable to search, but perhaps you did indeed have it switched off?
What I had in mind was that the SIM, SIM reader, or other related mobile radio hardware, might be faulty, and might even be interfering somehow with WiFi connections. I thought that by getting the SIM out of the phone - which I should have thought would be enough, but perhaps it's necessary to switch off Mobile Data as well - we could test all that as a possible source of trouble. Perhaps, I thought, the phone will do what it wants to do perfectly well on WiFi, without interference from possibly faulty mobile data gubbins.

I'm far from confident that I was on the right track, but it seemed worth testing.

That is strange , have you tried no wifi and just mobile data if you have enough data on your plan .
 
(...I'm sorry this is proving so difficult to crack. I've appealed to two other volunteer teams for help, so hopefully we'll eventually get there.)

That's very strange. That battery usage under phone radio shouldn't happen with the SIM card out and disabled. You could try this, just in case Gsam is misrepresenting the stats.

- Get ready before going to sleep, restart the phone and don't touch it until the morning.

- First thing in the morning check the memory/ram usage for the last 6 hours, take a couple of screenshots and see what's in there.

Maybe you could see some different background process on those stats.
