Colours look dull and washed out compared to my S22 Ultra...

The more I think about it the more outrageous this seems. If this is a software bug, which I suspect it is, how could this go undetectable? This is not some obscure bug buried in some setting which no one uses that often. This is a setting right in the display the first thing you see when you turn on your phone. How this bug could go undetected is beyond me

I honestly stop paying attention. LOL

I skipped the S23U so I can't comment but one of my friends have it do I'll see what's going on.

Colors look great on mine. They look natural. I don't and never have used the blown out Vivid mode though. The complaints I have seen so far seem to be from users who like Vivid mode.

That does seem to be "broken" on the S24U, as I don't notice any real difference with it on or off.
Agreed. While I'm on the S24+, and most complaints seem to be from the Ultra, I've always used the natural setting. I saw the vivid setting way back on the S8 and hated that over-saturated look. Especially blowing out the reds like it did.

Stayed away from that on the next two Samsungs I got after that. And now on my current third one.

I have no complaints about the display on mine. "Natural" looks more natural than it did in the past. I don't use vivid.

I don't think those who are complaining are missing the vivid mode alone because even when it worked properly it didn't make that much of a difference! I am beginning to think they have defective screens! Because my Vivid also does little to nothing on this phone but my screen looks fantastic! There's something more going here....OR...the complainers are being way overly fussy...and I am trying to believe them. I think they need to either WAIT for a patch...or send them back while they can! YMMV

I'm very happy with my screen colors and vivid doesn't seem to change anything. I never actually compared it to the S23U because it didn't bother me. I did put it next to the ZFold 5 and it looks similar to me. Funny thing is vivid on the Fold does make a difference but not much. I pretty much always felt that way about Vivid.

What a joke. Went to the Verizon store checked all three models of the S24. They all had the same problem : The toggle to vivid display was not working at all. I compared it to other galaxy phones specifically the galaxy flip and there was a huge difference in the two screen modes. Samsung should be ashamed of themselves for putting out a new phone with that sort of bug.

Spoke to the executive office today, they aren't actually doing anything about this yet because they haven't decided whether it's a wide spread issue. Said if I wanted to send it back they would make sure when I bought one again I would get the same deal and promos, and they gave me $50 for the wasted dome screen protector.

That executive probably doesn't even own a Samsung device lol
I wouldn't trust what they say , every s24 at least the ultra it's the same vivid same as natural.

I tried vivid on the Plus, and it's same - no change.

Other than the white balance slider showing up. Which also doesn't seem to do anything.
Thanks so even the plus , yeah I'm sure Samsung will send a software fix for this , I noticed with eye comfort on it does get little more vivid in vivid mode , do you see that?

Barely. Eye comfort does make the screen a tad warmer.

I also changed the sample image, and the white balance setting does make a very slight difference.

Very subtle changes.
