You may be right but remember t-mobile's version was available the day it was officially announced. AT&T and Rogers Wireless banded N1's hit the online store with no announcement at all, (to my knowledge).
At any rate, time will tell.

Why wouldn't Verizon take the opportunity to introduce a brand new device that showcases the brand new Skype? makes sense doesn't it?? just my thoughts i guess.....
It does make sense, however if you follow the model that Google has set for it's device...the carrier has little to no involvement with it at all. It's just how they are doing it. I can almost guarantee they will not change their model just for VZW. There is already enough confusion on how this device is sold anyway...if Verizon were to announce it, it would add even more confusion. That's why the carriers don't advertise it...they just provide the service. I know, I know it makes no sense to anyone to do it this way and some say it the dumbest thing Google could ever do and they are the devil for doing it, but this is how they do it.
well lets hope they tweak their "model" a little bit and let Verizon mention that the latest phone to use their new Skype Service is the Google nexus 1. Then google can press release that the nexus 1 is now available on Verizon.....
I wouldn't be opposed to that...but doesn't seem likely. I want this phone now! But what can we do they do it for a reason and only they fully understand it...stupid or not.

I know I am new to commenting on the site, but I have been reading it for a bit now, and I always see the "haters" out there in the forums. Today is the big day, and I guess some people just dont want it to happen. Thank you but please go away.....
Welcome TMATT! I was actually mocking the "haters" out there. I have been waiting for this phone since the end of January...reading every detail and understanding how this is all going to work. I would love for it to come out today, but I understand how things work...so I wouldn't be furious or really even upset if it didn't. It'll come out eventually. I've been and still am thinking happy thoughts and have tried to help the new comers that are a bit annoyed on how Google does things, try to understand that it's different than the normal Carrier release. I have a pretty dry sense of humor...sorry to give off the wrong impression.
yea, i have been keeping up also, checking daily for updates on the release. I still have a LG chocolate, so maybe its just my frustration when I read posts saying things like " I bet/ almost promise it wont be out today" "its not coming out today" " Google wont do that, Verizon doesn't do this". my initial post was to generate discussion on the Google nexus coming out today.... not having every internet Nostradamus come out on the day it is speculated to release and throw out a prediction of " Nexus 1 not coming out today"..... thanks but you dont win an award by predicting the some-what obvious, after all this March 23rd date is all speculation right????
Not being negative here but if you are hanging around waiting, you are wasting your time. It won't come out today. Trust me on that.
Everyone has different opinions on when the Nexus will be available, some more optimistic or realistic than others. I love speculation.
this is exactly what I am talking about. Why do you find it necessary to come to a thread about it releasing today and tell everyone otherwise, then you have the courtesy to list your source as "trust me". Come on dude, go find a Twilight forum and post on your predictions there......
Or give us something to go on like a ballpark of the release if you know it won't be today. This week, next month, May?
