I have a 2 week old newborn baby, that being said I use my EVO one-handed most of the time. You would not believe how many times I have had to catch it in mid air. One of these days it's going to slip and crash on the floor. When that horrible day comes I would love my phone to be protected by a Super Seido Case!!! I have not been able to purchase one because all of my extra ca$h goes toward diapers and formula!!! Please help me protect my EVO!!!

I live on a hill, driveway goes up. I was rushing to get inside the house & forgot I had my phone on my lap. Next thing I know I get out of my car & phone goes sliding down the driveway. Of course it went all the way down to the bottom of the driveway & face down, without slowing down. Lesson learned, get a case.

The first week i got my phone i traveled back east to move my girlfriend out to the west coast. On one of our stops, in Nashville, we stayed and my girlfriend's friend's house. Well, that night i was sleeping on the couch and had my phone on the armrest above my head. I must have bumped it in the middle of the night unknowingly and when i woke up in the morning I witnessed the most horrific site of my life. My phone had fallen of the armrest and landed it what must have been the most rank, fresh pile of animal (dog) feces my nostrils had ever smelled. Because i didnt have a case, it got in the screen edges of the phone and even a little in the ear piece and mic. Needless to say, I spent the rest of the long trip listening to complete ****, pun intended.

If i would have had a case that first week, it would have been less of unbearable experience and an easy removable clean up.

Please save me from another sh*tty disaster!

I Was on the corner waiting for the bus (Im poor) when i saw a hot looking girl walking up . i decided that i needed to impress her so i took my out my Evo to show off. i was grabbing it from my pocket and as it came off the greese ( From my face) from the screen caused it to slip and i dropped it.to make matters worse i was grebbing a few of the pieces of classoff the floor, when the hot girl saw what had happened and came to help. she ended up getting a cut on the finger by the broken glass. although not to bad. the very thing that i was using to impress the girl ended up being the same thing that cut her.. if i had a case this would of never happened :(

P.S i didnt get her number ... Pleases S.O.S

Trial by Fire

It's Android contest time, boys and girls, and the folks at Seidio are offering up a whopping 10 cases for the Evo 4G. We're giving away five from the Innocase Active line and five from the Innocase Rugged line.

To win, all you have to do is post in this thread about a horror story or near miss in which a case could have saved your Evo. Contest will run through 5 p.m. EDT Sunday, at which time we'll pick the winners.

Oh, and if you do win, we want to see your phone clad in the case, so get ready to snap a pic or two and post back here.

Good luck!

I am a firefighter in Washington, DC. I guess the Evo is so new that since I got it on launch day there haven't been a ton of cases available, and none very protective.

I carry my phone almost all the time, even while at work. I use it to take pictures of interesting situations/scenarios to train other firefighters. About a week into having it we responded to a pretty significant house fire. Not thinking, I left my Evo in my pants pocket and donned my firefighting gear over it and went to work. The Evo headed into the fire with me...

I'm on a ladder company, which involves a lot of beating and breaking stuff and searching for victims. Climbing over and around objects, tearing down drywall, falling a little every once in a while, etc... The phone is pretty well protected from heat under my gear, but when I took it out of my pants after the fire it was covered in moisture and had pant lint all over it. I was pretty worried, but thankfully it survived.

I've been pretty eagerly awaiting the release of something like the rugged case, as the Evo is my only phone... Help me protect it!

My five nieces and nephews are over for a day. All wanting to play home run derby on my Evo. Fighting ensues, Evo drops.....I need a Seidio case!

I had placed my Evo on a stack of books and my friends head was totally in his laptop keyboard. When all of a sudden he decides to twist his laptop thereby tip the stack of books and Evo. I saw it and I acted like I was the one in matrix as it was all slow motion except me. My reaction was like a goalie in hockey making a glove save (probably inspired since I'm in chicago). I pulled that phone to safety. It was a close call but successful. Now I'm going to fltry to take over Niemi's job

How a Sprint saved my Evo

Though I am not exactly.prone to throwing my lone or anything like that, I did buy a case for my phone the ass half hour after I got it. Low and behold, that same day I went to visit my family and I drop the thing on the ground next to an exposed root of a tree. Fortunately, it wasn't on the screen side and the case prevented same potentially heavy damage to the underside.

My niece shattered the screen on her evo 4 days after getting it on the 4th of june. it fell from the counter in the kitchen to the floor, and its pretty safe to say that a case would've made the difference.

I put the evo in my wife's bag and i said i am putting the phone in to your bag, when she went to grab the back, she grabbed it so fast that the EVO flies out and lucky me or lucky EVO landed on our bed, she looked at me and turned white, she goes thank g-d it landed on the mattress, otherwise it be a broken evo, since then i dont give her my EVO.

Evo crash test dumbies

While my daughter was playing games on my EVO on the concrete patio outside, a bird flew by and she got scared and the EVO wasn't the first thing on her mind. I was watering the tomatoes, and heard a yell and a crash. She was fine just scared, but the EVO was a trooper as well. Some dings on the side, and scratches on the bottom. All in all it still works. Please help us with a cover, so I don't have to think about her not being able to play games on this beast of a phone.

tried to take a picture of my dog & while I was holding his leash in the same hand that my phone was in, he decided to chase a rabbit. Well the phone flew & landed on the sidewalk. It knocked off the cover & it scratched the outside of the camera but it still works.

Scary Story....

Ok so this one time at band camp.....No seriously, since I purchased this phone a month ago now I've been unable to set it down. Last week, while I was at work I almost drowned my EVO. The night before I had my favorite meal, steak and eggs, a very large portion of it at that. I'm pretty sure you can see where I'm going with this.

In any event, the next morning I had a strong urge to use the "John". I did my due diligence and prepared my throne accordingly. Seat cover, soft tissue, and some disinfectant (nasty co-workers). Fast forward, when I was finished with my "moment" I began the clean up process, all while the phone is in hand searching the forum in reference to 4g in south Florida. At that moment, my precious slipped out of my hand and my life with the device's (one month) flashed before our eyes/lenses. Luckily I played a little ball back in high school thus my hand-to-eye coordination was superior. That's right, I caught it, mid-air. I have nightmares about that moment every other night.

Well I'm not gonna lie, I REALLY WANT THE SEIDIO CASE so I won't have to exchange my cracked screen EVO for a new one again. I work on Big Rigs and last week I was replacing a starter on a Freightliner. The starter is about 70lbs and pretty much what happened was I had my EVO sitting on the leaf spring so I can listen to IHeartRadio while removing the 70lb paper weight out of the truck and after removing the last mounting bolt, the starter decided to fall right out as it never does. Well I was able to kinda catch it before it hit my face but doing so I hit the evo, it flew off the leaf spring and it landed facedown on the shop floor. With no SEIDIO case the screen some how cracked. So what I'm pretty much trying to say here is I need that RUGGED SEIDIO CASE for my daily grind at work. Thanks and I hope one of the RUGGED SEIDIO CASES has my name on it now. LOL

My EVO was plugged in on my desk at work. I rolled my chair to the other side of the cube, but I caught the cord with my wheel, and my EVO went flying, and hit the cabinet, and the floor, leaving some decent scuff marks on the side of the phone.

The reason I need an EVO case is simple...all I need to do is look at my old devices.
Palm IIIx - case at all times, pristine shape
Casio EM500 - case at all times, pristine shape
Dell Axim - case at all times, pristine shape
Sprint Mogul - belt case only, many dings and scratches
Sprint Treo Pro - no case, case cracks, dings, scratches
Sprint Pre - No case, busted power button from a small fall to a desktop, fine scratches here and there.
Sprint EVO - just toooooo pretty to get banged up...Must.Get.Case!

Not Enough Hands

Every morning when I arrive to work I struggle with the myriad items that need to be carted into the office. And every morning my Evo is one of the last things that I grab from the front seat of my car. Well, last week I had a larger-than-normal volume of stuff and I decided to balance my Evo on top of a large stack of papers. When I went to close the car door the pile collapsed and the phone went sliding 5 feet across the concrete. I saw it happening in slow motion but when I tried to grab for it the only result was about 50 sheets of a report flying into the air and raining down in a huge circle around me.

There is a happy ending though... my Sapphire Blue Innocase Surface took the impact like a champ! The phone itself has no damage, not a scratch, crack, or loose part. But, the case is not-so-pretty now. It is still on my phone for fear of another drop, and the tabs holding it to the phone are intact, but the visual is not appealing. So, maybe an Innocase Active is a better choice for me in the long run...

This case saved my phone - it will never be without one!

my Evo was sitting on my lap in the car and of course, getting out of the car the evo slide off my lap onto the ground, which luckily was grass and not the pavement!!!

Near miss and wish I had a case to protect it at that time!

I rent a house with my sister and brother in law. They have 2 great girls and a baby boy on the way. I'm very good about my neices not getting holding my phone. I love them to death, but they will just get it all sticky or break it. Well, i walk in one day and see my neice reaching for the charger cord to my Evo. Right when she grabs it i get there and catch it before it hits the tile floor. I think i really need to get a good case for this thing.

So, i live in a house with 2 year old and a 3 year old. That should say it all. :)
