I was riding a wild mouse rollercoaster. As coasters go they are pretty tame but what I didn't figure was how hard they push you from side to side when they take corners. I didn't realize how much I had bumped around until I got off the ride. I took my phone out to check the time and the screen had shattered against my leg, right in the middle of the glass. A case with a screen-protecting holster would have saved both my phone and my heart from breaking.

$90 for a footlong

i was at lowes hardware the other week paint shopping for mom. i had a gallon of paint in each hand when i heard my incredible ring. i put down both the gallons of paint on the floor to read a text...as im reading it, i reach down to pick up the two gallons of paint off the floor with phone still in hand. what seemed easy, however, while trying grab the paint bucket handle, my phone slipped out and fell 12 inches, just 12 inches, to the concrete floor. i picked it up and saw what looked to be an a screen shattered twice by a pin hammer. A $90 insurance payment and 3 weeks later, i have a new incredible.

now anytime i reached for my phone and think i have a loose grab...my heart skips a beat and i have a small moment of panic.

i would have never thought dropping it 12 inches would do anything, but i guess it hit at the right angle.

i was at costo getting some pizza a couple of days after i got my incredible, and i dropped it, it hurt like as if someone had kicked me in the "nuts". I saw it on the floor and was about to cry, but i picked it up, looked at it, and not even a scratch. im glad they dont have lumpy cement, they have pretty soft cement and i think it hit my shoe before it hit the cement. Anyways, hope i win a case :)

I was walking to meet a friend, attempting to walk, text and browse the internet simultaneously. An idiot, opting to ride his bike on the sidewalk, raced by, jarring the phone loose from my hands. My heart stopped as I saw my beautiful Incredible slowly tumble to the concrete pavement, the battery cover and battery both popping out as it did so.

Slowly, I bent down to pick up the phone. The battery cover had a nasty gouge in it, but it was mostly intact. I popped the battery back in, gently placed on the cover, hit the power button and, yes, prayed. I saw the HTC Incredible logo appear on the screen. Phew, bullet dodged. Man, it would've been nice to have a case!

I was picking up my phone from my desk at home and was about to run up the stairs, but then i lost grip of my incredible (it's so thin! hopefully a case will fix that ;) ) and it fell onto my hardwood floor. Battery cover and battery popped out :(

new incredible

So I order the new Droid incredible thinking yes I'm getting the new bad a** Droid phone. So after a month they tell me its going to be another week for shipping.Wat the Hell I order the phone and I takes a month and a half longer than the two week ship date great.well finally after almost two months it shows up at my house yes.so I can't even wait to open so I start opening it right there in the drive way, and to my luck I get to the phone pick it out of the box. What happens it slipped out of my hand and smashed the new concrete.I didn't even get to turning it on before it was already ruined.a seidio case would have saved my new Droid incredible.

Oh man, a case would be nice just "in case"! (ha...ha..ha..)

Alright, so my close encounter. I was beaching it up with a couple of my friends one day and had willingly taken my phone on the beach with me. I needed to have it with me on the beach because I was waiting for an important phone call back regarding important info from my bank. After a while I hadn't received the phone call yet and had stuffed my phone in my shirt (it was folded and in my beach bag) to protect it from the sun and accidentally falling into the sand at the same time. Eventually leaving from the beach, I had successfully guarded my phone from the treacherous sand and sun. Went back to my friend's car, put my stuff in his trunk and was about to leave when I needed my shirt! I opened the trunk back up, ripped my shirt out of my bag in his trunk and proceeded to put it on when at that moment I saw my incredible falling to the gravel out in the parking lot. It was too late... I was pissed since I had thought about having forgot it in my shirt but I didn't think I actually would.

Luckily however, it survived with a few minor dents on the top and bottom and a minor scrape on the very bottom of the screen. I'm lucky it didn't fall directly on the screen.

I've almost dropped my DInc and saved it at the last second at least 10 times... and then there's the 4-5 times where I didn't save it. I need a case!

I currently have the VZW shell/holster combo, and I have been quite disappointed with it. It's not at all secure, especially if I try to carry my phone horizontally. I have had the phone drop out on multiple occasions, including twice on the granite steps leading up to my office. I have a huge gouge on the top corner of my Incredible because the shell doesn't cover the top edge of the device at all.

I'm looking for something to better protect my Inc, and I've been very impressed with the reviews and stories I've heard regarding Seidio's case offerings for other models.

(And Kobyoshi, even if I don't win a case, your story gets my vote)

I've had several instances when I've been getting out of my car at work, trying to juggle my laptop, my phone, my keys, and occasionally a drink, and have (or nearly have) dropped my Incredible on the parking lot (hey, nobody said it had to be a GOOD story).

Within a day of getting my Droid Inc, my daughter -- who only wanted to see what all the fuss was about -- says, "Mommy let me see!!!". Dropped it right on the grocery store floor. Multiple scratches on the top right corner!!!! OUCH! A case would have protected this for sure.

The Hoover Dam experience

So there I was at the Hoover Dam. It was a warm day with a slight breeze, the birds were outside making their funny calls and laying waste to pretty much any surface they landed on. I was making my rounds taking pictures of anything of interest, or not so interesting, with my phone (which takes some pretty great pictures by the way). The sights were amazing and I just had to capture them all, I even captured a dizzy inducing shot of the Hoover Dam where I held my phone over the side of the wall. Now you don't have to tell me how brilliant of an idea that one was because I figured it out on my own. And so the horror began.

I overlooked the wall and was determined to get the best shot possible. I found a way to cradle my phone so that no side could slip out of my hands if a strong gust was to knock my balance off. I figured I was safe but my figuring was wrong. The man who was about to bump into me was a large man too preoccupied by his Ice Cream cone to realize that I, the aspiring Hoover Dam photographer with a camera phone, was taking breath taking photos. He lumbered his way towards me on a path of collision but I wanted to get that last shot in. I snapped the photo right as he bumped into me. Time slowed as I attempted to bring my phone under control or at least bring it over from the cliff of a dam wall.

I succeeded in bringing it back over the wall but I ultimately lost control of the phone as it tumbled its way to the ground. My heart sank as I watched, in slowed time, the phone taking a bounce. It completed two back flips flawlessly before it bounced a second time attempting a third but futile layout. The "Incredible" landed on the ground but not before it stuttered a few more dance moves to let me know it was pissed at me for dropping it. I picked it up off the ground dusting it off with reverence and a sincere apology. My "Incredible" had survived but at what cost? The cost of a great photo? The cost of a possible Time Magazine "Top Ten Camera Phone Pictures of the Hoover Dam Wall" appearance? I don't know but it was too much.

I know now, though, that if I had an Innocase... case... it would have survived the fall down a two hundred foot drop wall only to be picked up during the tour I would have purchased in order to search for it. That case would save my phone if I happen upon any other extreme Camera Phone picture taking trips.

PS. I don't know how to post pictures but I'd be glad to post my Hoover Dam wall experience

HAHA! I HAVE FOUND IT!

Yesterday, while walking out of work to my car in the parking lot, I was checking emails on my case-less Droid Incredible. After I was done I went to lock the device and put it in my pocket, when it slipped out of my hand.

Time and my heart stopped.

In my efforts to catch it before it hit the hard pavement below, I hit it about 5 feet higher back into the air and forward in front of me; making this whole situation even worse. This forced me to have to run forward to catch the now air-born Android device.

It probably looked like I was a white, shirt and tie clad, Larry Fitzgerald catching a touchdown pass.

Thankfully no one was outside to see me throwing my arms out all crazy-like, and even more fortunately, I had caught it. I cradled it my arms and rocked it back and forth until I could get my heart beats back to a normal level.

Was shopping for innocases today, then I saw this. Hopefully I can last a few more days without my klutz disease killing me or my phone.

Near Miss with my Incredible

The other day I was working out at the gym with my trainer and I was doing some work with 50lb dumbbells on the bench. Normally I will push out a set and drop the weights on the floor for a quick recovery before going to the next set. I just got my Incredible a few weeks ago and had it in my pocket, as it is my lifeline. No case and basketball shorts caused my Incredible to fall out of my pants cause I was laying down. I didn't notice that I had dropped my phone and as I finished my set I did what I always do and drop the dumbbells. Thanks to the quick action of my trainer when I dropped them he instantly kicked my phone out of the 50lb bomb falling to where my phone was. Thank goodness it wasn't crushed but I did get some scratch marks on the back case due to the collision with my phone and the weight bench it hit. Had I had a case I am sure there would have been no damage. Just glad I still got my Incredible since I had to wait over a month to get it. Need a case badly...

I'm a commercial roofer and work on some huge buildings. I was measuring the facia metal (outside edge metal on front) on a 8 story building when my phone fell out of my tool belt...Damn I thought, but luckily 12' down was a decretive edge coming out of the building about 3' wide with huge planters built in. I had to knock on the condo owners door and she let me grab my incredible. The only thing that happened to it was a scratch in my screen protecter. Until next time!

I was fishing and had my phone in a zip lock bag listening to Pandora I was changing the station and put it in my lap and forgot it was there got up to set the hook on a fish and of course the phone went for a swim. Now that's not the bad part....I was in 30 feet if water when this happend I actually jumped in clothes on and all and dove down and found it. I thought everything was cool until I noticed the bag was not all the way sealed. Thank goodness for insurance.

Just few days ago, my little brother is playing around my table while I was charging
my HTC Incredible. Suddenly his leg dragged the wire of my charger and my
Incredible was dragged from desktop to fall into the floor. My heart is broken...
and I cannot breath for several seconds. Fortunately, I put a case on it and
for the sake of a wooden floor, there is no scratch on it.

An advise to other people: You may be very careful about your lovely
cellphone, however, it is hard to prevent other people put damages on it--
unless you give her a suitable case to let her protect herself.

My dog was being playful. I was sitting on the couch after a long day of work browsing my twitter feed.

*yoink*

Dog grabbed my Incredible right out of my hand and started running all over the house with it. The yelling and chasing commenced. Poor little guy (both the phone and the dog).

The damage was very minor. One tooth mark on the edge of the phone, away from the screen. But this damage would have been prevented with a case! Alas.

The wife and I had just gotten and charged our new Incredibles and I was on the phone with Verizon trying to port over our numbers from AT$T when I knocked one of the phones off the desk and onto the floor tile, where my Labrador helfully dove in to retrieve it. When I looked up from accepting the phone from my dog's sopping mouth, The Wife was giving me the Look of Death. Thankfully, it was MY phone that dropped, and I choose to believe the scratches on the screen came from the stone tile and not the dog's mouth. Oh, for the lack of a Seido case! :(

Working for a TV station. I was climbing ~90 feet up into the air on the broadcast tower to adjust a small receiver unit that we use for a broadband up-link to the station.

Right as I finished adjusting the receiver, my boss called me on my Incredible to verify to me the signal strength. While this was unnecessary as I used ConnectBot to login via SSH to monitor the signal strength. Him calling would of made no difference why it fell. I was in the process of putting my phone in a secure pocket. Then the damn bird....

A freaking bird, not sure where it came from scared the living day lights out of me! After laughing at the bird scaring me, I noticed something that made me get sick. I looked down to the ground just in time the see my wonderful Incredible hit a rung on the antenna. The Verizon snap on case that I had on the phone popped off and flying in different directions. This tower site is in the middle of some farmers hay field. The farmer allowed me to use his pickup truck to drive though his field to get to the tower. The back of this truck was filled with loose hay. After the phone hit the rung on the tower, it started flying towards the back up the truck. With no time to think of a prayer hoping that it did not get damaged when it hit the tower and maybe it will have a soft landing in the loose hay in the truck. It hit the side fender of the pickup truck, I could hear the "thunk" up on the tower.

After I climbed down the tower, walking towards the truck. I began picking up the pieces of my phone. The Verizon snap on case shattered, this sickened me. I found my battery and it's cover halfway between the tower and the truck. I found a scratch on the battery cover and the battery was hot. REALLY HOT. I figured something went bad inside and I decided the leave the battery on the ground. Then I got to the truck, prepared to find the worst.

Nothing. Not a scratch on the actual phone or the screen cracked. Left a hell of a dent in the truck. On my way back, I stopped by a sprint store (No Verizon store within 50 miles, but Sprint was just ten minutes out) and purchased a battery for the TouchPro2. After paying way to much for the battery, I installed in my phone and powered up.

Everything worked as it should. I was not prepared for that! I do not know how or why it did not shatter the screen. But the phone is in perfect condition, except for the battery cover.

Oh yea, did I mention that I'm afraid of heights?
