Geez the Palm people are jumping ship like there on the Titanic huh - every hour the numbers are going up!

Well I have had just about every type of device/OS out there but always end up back with my Blackberry. But NOTHING has impressed me like the Evo. I work for Sprint and I'm trying to get my manager to allow me to make a list of people that want the Evo and ship them out. No promises yet but anyone interest in doing so, let me know.

Wow i cant believe the number of Palm Pre's will be on E-Bay...Add one more..mine. By The Way Wow on the TOUCH PRO 2....thats a close 2nd to the pre

I'm about 85% of the way to switching from AT&T and my iPhone. I'll wait a week or so to find out what the 4G coverage is like here and also find out a few other details with Sprint and home access points. IF the coverage is good and they offer a home wireless router solution then I'm in to try out the Evo. If no 4G is available I'll wait it out and see what the new iPhone has to offer before deciding.

The Evo for me, is the first Android phone that offers a compelling reason to switch. I just hope Sprint can deliver as a network on it's 4G promises not only in coverage but in actual speeds. Hotspot features and paying a premium for data is meaningless if 4G doesn't preform faster than AT&T's 3G currently does in my area. 2mb+ DL speeds are not uncommon, I hope 4G is what it's been hyped up to be.

Well I may be able to find out what the 4G coverage is in your area. I work for Sprint (used to work for AT&T). I can tell you this much, I had the iPhone when I worked at AT&T and it COULD be a great phone (when jail broken) but they just don't have the network to support it. In 3 years, that phone has increased their data usage by 5000% and (in my opinion) it's killing their network. Even at 3G speeds, the Evo was a little faster than the iPhone. At 4G speeds, it dominates the iPhone. Not to mention that Sprint charges less and gives you more. And after watching the video from Apple about the newest iPhone, I wasn't impressed at all. All they really added was multi-tasking.

Leaving Blackberry, it just doesn't offer what I want and need. Been eligible for an upgrade since April 1st, and I waited it out to see if there would be something to wow me in the Blackberry world. Nothing. The Bold 9650 was huge dissapointment for me, it may be an upgrade from the 8330m I'm on, but the OS is something that I'm not crazy about. I'm more of a multimedia person, and I plan on buying at least 2 extended batteries for my EVO. I'm quite happy with what I've seen with Android and I have a lot of access to google products, but never really used them, and when I get the EVO, I'm pretty sure I'll take full advantage of it. Blackberry is good for some people, but just not me.

I am leaving my Pre, I loved it too, but it has gotten more buggy and slow with every update, I'm even overclocking it and still lagging with simple stuff. It sucks to be speaking with a client and trying to show them an email or schedule something on the calendar and have your phone **** the bed.

I love WebOS and I have dropped some science on some iPhone users by demoing Pandora, Calendar, Email, Web, etc, you get the idea, all at once. But I have to agree, the hardware just isn't there yet. One of the simple things that I thought it should have but didn't was a compass, I mean, simple stuff.

Anyway, I'm very excited about the EVO, it's my first Android device and I know it will likely be trumped in a few months, but I feel that I have bought a device to be excited about for one year until my Sprint Premier account comes up for an upgrade to the EVO II.

Jeremy,

Thanks for adding it to the poll! I appreciate it! I actually messaged the website people (whomever it is), and asked them to do that for me. Thanks!

It seems like Palm will be losing a lot of mindshare with the release of the Evo, something they do not need right now.

webOS should live forever, it is great, but they should have been smarter. Releasing new hardware for the hundreds of thousands of launch day owners out there that are eligible for the upgrade. Every time I look at my Pre i think "Shame on you, Palm."

The numbers are worse than I expected for Palm. And I am very VERY glad to see iPhone users coming to another platform. I love Apple products, but they limit things so much, its annoying after a while. Their 4.0 software only caught up with the rest.

Switching from my TP2 on Sprint to this EVO...

I am NOT looking forward to WM7, so I made the change now.

switching from iphone & bb bold9700 to this. i dislike att's service definitely on my drop calls

I imagine WM is going to big portion of the group. Then Palm, since this is a spinoff of Treocentral. I can't believe people even use Palm hardware anymore, talk about no changes since the Treo650...

Its probably people using WebOS....

after 1 yr on Mogul, hello TP
after 6 mos on TP, hello TP2
after 7 mos on TP2 ... bye bye winmo and HELLO EVO!!!
