ok, thanks, just wondering, so I'm ready to flash, thanks for the fast response
I have a question, I have the Optimus S with ZVD, every time I flash a recovery after a reboot it reverts back to the original one, any way of setting it permanent?

The same happened when I tried to edit /init.rc it reverts to the original one, to install busybox I had to copy it to /system/bin then install it /system/bin/busybox --install (it installed in /data/busybox folder, then mkdir /system/xbin (only folder in PATH that won't get erased) then cp -d /data/busybox/* /system/xbin then I erased /system/bin/ls, /system/bin/cat and /system/bin/df

# mv /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh.bak

that line's important

Ok I ran through the instructions exactly, no error messages, but when I reboot recovery it just hangs on the LG screen. I'm feeling dense I admit.
EDIT: Got it, I was in fact being dense. Thanks for the help!
how did you fix this problem?

I've followed the steps for this but when I do reboot recovery.. it reboots..shows me the LG logo and then the screen is blank. It is still backlit like it is showing me a blank screen. But I don't get ANY type of recovery options. Just a blank screen. Tried twice and still no go. I am rooted (superuser asked for access when I typed SU so I know its working)

You cannot use this recovery because you have a newer optimus s, you need to use the cwmr it has drivers for the newer displays.

yes but not this one, you need to put this recovery on instead, you most likely have a newer Optimus S which means the display drivers in this recovery will not work for you, the above recovery will have the display drivers for both the newer and older OS.

So I downloaded the files to my computer, unzipped them, then moved them to my SD card. When attempting to run the second line, cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image, receiving error: /sdcard/flash_image: No such file or directory. How do I get past this?

The flash file is on my SD card (not the rar file...the actual file). I copied and pasted the text directly from the post so that I didn't miss any spaces. Any help would be appreciated.
