Well I use SMS Backup and Restore from the market. You would have to do a nandroid of your current, restore the old nandroid, do the backup and then restore the current nandroid and execute an SMS Restore. Sounds worse than it actually is. Usually you would just do the backup before flashing and not have to go through this reverse process. If the Sms history is important to you this will get it back.

Am I the only one having picture quality issues? I try and open up a link to a 8MP picture in either dolphin hd or android browser and it doesn't show it at its full quality when zoomed in. Even if I save the picture onto the sdcard, and go to it into the 3dgallery app, when I zoom in, its still poor quality. Is this a cm6 issue or an android issue?

How does it look when viewed on a computer monitor or when printed out?

I have an Evo that I used unrevoked 3 on with the nand unlocked, I get an error when trying to install cyanogen 6 on there that says:

ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.1

Assert failed: get prop("ro.bootloader") == "0.76.200'
get prop("ro.bootloader") == "0.79.000"

im new to this and thinking I shouldnt have used unrevoked but alas it where I am now. how to I change my bootloader so I can install cyanogen?

Yeah, you need hboot .76.200. Check out this thread at xda:

I followed this thread and tried to flash the eng bootloader from .79 to .76.200 and now I cant boot at all.

CM6 was stuck at the boot screen, I tried to restore with my nandroid and it wouldnt go to my clockwork recovery.

I need help please.

You should still be able to get to the bootloader screen by doing the power button + volume down, where you can restore a nandroid backup. After you flashed the .76.200 hboot, did you then wipe everything, and then flash cm6 or what?

I can get to the bootloader screen, However when I choose recovery it gives me the red triangle with the !...and then its stuck again.

I didnt wipe everything before I flashed cm6...is that part of the problem?

It could be. As far as I know, you're always supposed to wipe data and caches before flashing a new rom.

Are you sure you are NAND unlocked?

I got it to get CM6 loaded and boot up had to reflash my clockwork mod, and tried restoring from my nandroid, now the phone wont load into its recovery just goes straight to fastboot.

Heads up CM6 is being upgraded to Android 2.2.1

Nothing Stable and I believe it will be for a Nightly...

It sounds like your recovery keeps getting wiped out for whatever reason, are you flashing anything else that would over-write any of this?

Do you have a backup of your nandroid or another one you can use? I know they grab the boot.img and if that somehow has a corrupted recovery it could explain some of your problems.

Also, working with CM6 are you using hboot .76?

I got it working, the eng pc63img file got me booted and I could reflash clockwork so im up and running on the AC Rom right now. All seems good and I just made a new backup so im stable. Hurray! thanks for the help!
