Can you download weather bug and see if you can get a lock?

I use weather bug elite and I got a lock within a few seconds, normal time. Download and install GPS Status from market, open and it will download a GPS assistance, that seems to help.

On my EVO and CM7, you needed to do a ## code on a stock rom in order to get gps working on the CM7 Rom. The code reset the gps and that is the only way to get working gps on the EVO and CM7.

Is there anything like that for the Optimus? I had my wifes phone by window for 10 minutes and it wouldn't lock. Just keeps flashing. I am going to try and test it when we go out and maybe it has something to do with my location, although I have never head a problem get gps signal in my house.

Great rom and thanks for the work, but if I cannot get GPS working, will need to downgrade her to a Froyo Rom which I really don't want to do....Hopefully I can get GPS to work.

Do the same, GPS Status from market, open app, let it download the assistance. If that doesnt work, wipe cache, dalvik cache, flash the system debug, then reinstall rom. Did you make sure Use GPS in checked in setting?

Menu, Settings, Location & Security, Use GPS Satellites=Checked.

Yeah it is checked.....I already wiped cache and dalvik as well as reinstalled the rom again. I didn't do a full wipe though, just flashed over. I am going to try GPS staus. Thinking maybe it has something to do with my airave in my house as well although that has never been an issue with my EVO or stock ROM on Optimus.......

Really want to avoid a full wipe if I can. Took my like an hour last night to setup the wifes phone gain. If all else fails I might try it.

Thanks for the suggestions!

No problem, I know it sucks doing a full wipe but until a RC is posted we will be getting nightlies pretty much every 2 days or so. Most of the time a wipe is required, why IDK. With CM6 a flash over was pretty much all one needed to do. Its not just with the S either, I follow the Hero forum (wife has Hero) and AOSP's GingerBread rom is the same way, full wipe.

Well good news. I unplugged my airave and gps locked in a matter of seconds! I know that thing has weird effect sometimes!

Now my wife can enjoy some Gingerbread, even though she has no idea what that means. lol

I am curious, I backed up all of my apps using astro file manager. If I do a full wipe, when I restore my backup will my apps be there?

Don't overclock so far.
I have ran my phone on gb for 24 hours straight (longest I have gone without flashing a new test build >.>)
Thanks, that was the issue for sure. I am now running max at 806 (anything higher will cause reboots for me) and it runs great. Thanks for all the hard work. This is my first Android and i cant stop tinkering with it, LOL!!! Still running V9 though and might return to stock and update soon. Is it worth it though?

Do you have the external GPS wire hooked up to your AIRAVE? No issues with GPS at my house.

No, it sits by the window. It is actual the newer one with 3G data. Once I got the initial lock on the phone after unplugging it, is fine now and locks instantly after I plugged it back in.

I think it has something to do with where the data is reading from on the airave because it used to show my location to be where my service for my internet was coming from which was no where near me. That is what gave me the idea to see what happens if I unplugged it and got a signal from where I actual was. Signal is terrible by my house but I had enough to lock it in.

Like I said, now that I got my initial lock, it is all good with the airave.......

Are there any reports on this working on the Optimus M? I'd like to try this on my fianc?es Opt M, but as she's here visiting me in England, we wouldn't be able to test calls, sms, mms or APNs before she went home....

Also just wanted to post that I could not get Wireless Tether to work either, but I just found Barnacle Wifi Tether on the market, and it works great. I am sending this post using it now.

Sorry if this has allready been posted, but I did not see it.

Yeah, I have the connection for the external gps, just didn't need to use it. It is great having that device in my home and for free on top of it. If Sprint actual told people about it they could probably get a lot of new customers to sign up if they are in area's of bad signal.

The funny thing is if I drive about a 1/2 mile to a mile, I don't only get good signal but I also get 4G, lol. But by my house, no service provider picks up a good signal.

Ya I Live in the middle of the city (over 1 million people) and have horrible reception all in my street. Free AIRAVE was awesome, and I didn't even have to threaten to leave Sprint. LOL.

But like you as soon as i leave our street I get great service. No 4G where I live though.

I tried last night, and saw wireless and usb tethers are already in the error reporting system. 'Wireless Tether for Root Users' in the market works fine, too, as does pdanet for usb.

I tried Wireless Tether for Root Users several times with no luck. It says it is connected but have no connection.

Trying this on an Optimus M as mentioned earlier. Boots fine. Reaches "Touch android to begin" and there doesn't seem to be any response to touching any part of the screen. Any ideas?

That happened to me a while ago when flashing a rom to my cdma hero. The only way I was able to fix was wipe and flash again.

Hmmm, nope, same issue.

I know the M isn't quite the same as the S (or the V), but there was a post earlier saying it should be theoretically possible.

Any further tips?
