It's still at the defaults... not brave enough to mess with the cpu settings yet.

Ahh figured it would have to be still at 600mhz for that.. granted, at 768 I can muster out a Max of 20+ hrs with moderate to heavy use at times.. I just backed it down to 748ish (I think)to see what kind of effect it'll have on the battery..

O an wen i boot up my phone i get 2 diff lg sreens now, is that right. an is there a way to only have the one not both/

Yes that's right no there's not a way to only have one, but it really doesn't mean anything or hurt anything.

Well I did the VC update and haven't had a problem yet

Let me know how that goes I still havent looked up what the vc update is... so I haven't done it yet but yeah do want to know how it goes.

Ugh... sometimes i hate the back button on the mouse... just deleted everything I typed when I pressed it by accident. anyway... I had 2 things to say...

1) the VC baseband is garbage. I had all kinds of problems using it with CM7, might be why spring pulled that update, who knows... I don't feel like re-typing the details, but if enough people ask I suppose later I can share my bad experiences - in a nutshell... the phone no longer worked as a phone...

2) I found a work-around to getting perfect sound for music through the headphones... but, it does require a piece of hardware (or the latest build fixed the audio and I just discovered this for nothing/it means nothing)

Anyway... for the fix... use a 4-connection headphone jack. I have headphones with a mic (headphones with mic are 4-connection jacks) or use an adaptor. Perfect sound with that. Want to save some money with that still? There's another option similar that would let you get perfect sound when plugging into your car stereo or just a set of speakers... if you plug in a 4-connection jack, then quickly switch it to a normal 3-connection jack (regular jack or headphones), it still thinks it's a 4-connection or something (audio still works right). Since these are analog plugs, this should even work with just a plug that isn't connected to anything - so maybe you could buy a 4-connection jack as if you're going to use it to make a cable and save some money. This at least works for me so far. Hope it does for others too.

BTW, if anyone knows where I can buy an adapter at a good price for my car, i'd appreciate that. I'd prefer 1 with a mic build in to the adapter so I can just plug the car stereo in and not worry about anything. (and yes, i know the mic may not work at CM7's current state).

If you have an aftermarket radio see if there is a bluetooth adapter for the radio, I have a JVC radio that has an optional bluetooth adapter that has a mic that sits on your visor overhead. Works great. Not quite with CM7 because in general it has bluetooth issues...

Time cures all ailments, I'm sure it will cute our Bluetooth issues too.

Is it just me, or is there no way inside of CM7 to update my PRL? I thought there was in CM6 on my hero, but I could be wrong.

Ok fine after seeing so many people comaining about it ill bite. WTF is PRL and why is everyone so interested in updating it. I've put together enough to know it has something to do with the phones radio, but what is it and why the widespread push to update it?

yes there is no sprint provisioning on any aosp device, even the hero and evo have the same issue on cm7 if i'm not mistaken.

you will have to either swap back to a LG based rom like ThundeROM, VCRom or nRom then update your PRL.

Same goes for if you have to reprovision (selling device, new number, ect).

So what is PRL? From your description I'm guessing its what ties a phone to an account/a phone number.

PRL = Preferred Roaming List

What would updating it do, let us communicate with other providers towers or get better signal, or is that only to change service providers. Why the big interest in updating it?

PRL aren't even updated all that much but what it does is say..

Lets say Sprint has an agreement with Verizon in your area, so you roam.
Lets say Sprint upgraded said agreement and now you can use EVDO on Verizon.

They'd have to upgrade that in a PRL.

Honestly though for most of us a PRL upgrade does nothing if you aren't having trouble.

I only mentioned it because I live way out in BFE, and am close to the edge of Sprint service, thus I roam a bit.

It took all of ten minutes to do a backup, wipe, flash TR, update PRL, wipe, restore back to backup.

How soon before CM7 gets out testing?

Wonder when CM7 will be ready for general consumption? I see there are incremental updates, was wondering when a stable release might be ready.
