Ok, I'm relatively new to Android custom ROM's even though I've been flashing custom Windows Mobile ROM's since 2006 so, I'm not sure if this is a me problem or a ROM issue.

I have most of my contact phone numbers stored in the format +1 (xxx) yyy-zzzz However, whenever I try to dial a number in that format, I get a message stating 'Call has been lost.' But, when I dial the same number without the '+' sign, I connect just fine. I've been storing my numbers in this format since 2005 when I got my first Windows Mobile device and now I have hundreds of numbers in that format that I am REALLY not looking forward to changing. Since this format worked just fine with the ZV9, ZVC, and ZVD stock ROM's, I'm guessing that either I did something dumb when flashing or that this is just a problem in the current version of the ROM.

I appreciate any help that I can get here. Thank you ^_^

EDIT: I forgot to note that I'm using nightly version 20110317 of this ROM. Also I did remember to clear system, data, and cache/davlik cache from my device prior to installing this ROM.

I'm running 03172011 nightly with a v9 radio and i've just made three calls in +1-xxx-xxx-xxxx format, and two in +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx format without any issues, luckily one of my roommates was up and the other two i didn't care about bothering, what radio do you have? are you absolutely sure there isn't any more character data in the numbers you have saved? I would one try downloading and flashing a fresh, copy of the rom, and flash it after a full wipe, don't forget the debug format system zip, and see if that fixes it, if not, i'd think it was your radio, i just have a hunch you're on either vc or vd, could be wrong though, not very good with hunches, hurt my back you know? Anyway that, while it may have been a habit, you should probably change it. Even though your dialing system works for me, you should drop as many characters from your saved numbers as possible, as you know, you don't need a one area code prefix suffix to dial from a cell just a land line, so drop the one, also the () aren't needed for the phone to comprehend how to use the extra numbers, and the + is pretty much only for international calling, but if you were actually worried about international calling, you'd probably be in true international format of + 00 1 xxx xxx xxxx, USA, back to it, I don't have data saying it's bad, but as we step forward in the future tech is only getting better and reducing what we the user's have to do, so that system of storage my not be compatible at some time.

Again while i can confirm your system does work for 317 nightly on v9 radio i'd still recommend changing how you save numbers and work on reforming your phone book.

ok so iv been running cm7 for awhil an iv been using adw launcher an iv notice that there are alotmof launchers out there like launcher pro. whats the best launcher that works well with this rom

most people on this rom probably already have a preference for launchers before they got here, so to ask which one works best with this rom is probably a matter of opinion. you may find a few launchers don't work, just a some apps don't work with 2.3, but mostly just try what you do like, if it works enjoy it. My roommate uses launcher pro on his captivate and it is kind of cool but i've stayed with the stock launcher, for a few different reasons mostly i just haven't cared to change it.

Guys i just have two question:

1) Does you bluetooth works for you?

Im traying to make a call with mines (blueant q1) and it doesnt work.

I came to this thread to check on this same issue. I have a Jabra Cruiser2 speakerphone and while it works fine on ThundeROM, it doesn't work in CM7. It will pair, transfer my phone book, but when I make a call, it is crazy quiet and garbled.

This is the one issue keeping me from using this ROM. I really look forward to this being resolved.

I'm glad, and at the same time not, that other ppl experienced this issue besides me with CM7. I have a LG HBM-235 bluetooth earpiece which is detected and pairs fine with my device running the latest 3/17/11 build of CM7, however when trying to make sometimes I hear nothing, sometimes I hear garble/static. In either case, I cannot make a call. I've tried a combination of builds in the last month and Xionia Kernels from 008 to 013 and have the same issue.
Everything seems to work fine on stock and TR 1.8.2 ROMs. I wish I could provide more useful information at the moment, and hope we can figure it out as it's the only thing keeping me from using CM7 ^.^

Glad to see I'm not the only lazy one who decided to be lazy and stick to v9.. :p Oh, and latest build here works just as well as it ever has (which is pretty damn close to perfect for me).

Also, for those of you who were fond of the original cm7 boot animation, or just want to spice things up a bit, thought I'd throw something else into the mix (the more the merrier, right?) I came across this sick boot animation on xda, which was tweaked from another post in some other xda thread, then I went ahead and changed the size parameters of it to fit on the optimus' smaller screen, and voila (one green, one cyan):

preview-green.gif
preview-cyan.gif

Note: ALL credit goes to xda's Dysgenic for making the original, and to aph for tweaking it to make it run smoother. But with that said, here are both options, with the sizes altered for us:

Link to cyan version

Again, I'm not trying to say either of the other two boot animations are bad (because they're not - I really do love both!), this is just yet another option. All you need to do is rename whichever one you want to use as bootanimation.zip and replace the original with it in /system/media (you might want to backup the original one, but it won't brick if you mess up - it'll just give you a blank screen instead of the animation). You could probably do this in root explorer, I decided to push it over with adb. Either method works fine. Have fun!

EDIT: Updated the links, because rapidshare sucks.

mind updating the links again?

MMS

Can't get MMS to work with this ROM. Mostly everything else works fine except MMS, although the first post says that MMS works. Any suggestions?

Please read the bug reports on the original post everyone... bluetooth is a noted bug, doesn't work. Zefie has said several times also that he is taking breaks from this project as his phone is experiencing troubles from flashing so many builds to make this work and needs help developing.

Sorry, it looks to me like bluetooth is marked as "currently working" in the original post, and I don't see this specific symptom described in the issue tracker.

CRAP! let me remove my foot from my mouth... sorry. I thought I read it a while back that it was not. My deepest apologies. But yes, to verify... I've never had luck getting it to work in CM7, it pairs but never connects for me.

reflash your rom, download a fresh copy and flash it, sent two pictures two some people at work today with no problems.

Nope stock messaging all, it seems to work fine for sending mms messages.

I had the same issue a while back, if you're using titanium backup to restore your settings from a 2.2 ROM, that's the culprit. I know it may sound annoying, but don't restore your data. Or maybe you can restore everything except for the messaging app and it's settings but I'm not sure if that would work.

I did everything said and now my phone just freezes up while trying to load up Cyanogen screen... I cant get back to recovery either! HELP PLEASE

Pull your battery, reinsert it then hold down the down volume + home then hold down the power button. Keep holding all 3 down until the lg screen goes away....

Yeah, if you're getting to the bootscreen, then you should still be able to get into recovery. Once there, try to clear everything, including using the debug zip, then reflash and give it another go. Note, recovery is vol down + home + power, as noted above. Don't worry, you're not totally screwed yet haha

doesnt work lg optimus s android 2.2.2 plz fix

dare i even ask, which recovery you're using, something tells me you're not entirely sure what your doing... just a hunch. I want to help you so please do tell me which recovery you're using.
