Just wanted to update on this. I know I had posed the question about the battery life yesterday so let me tell you what happend:

I went to xda and found the Glaxy S theme and wanted to try it on my Optimus S. The bad thing was that my phone didn't like it and got stuck on the boot animation so I went to go restore my nand and realized it was the TR 1.8.2 nand and not my CM7 nand. Anyway, I had to end up reflashing Zefie's CM7 on my phone from scratch. I am also using zefie's custom recovery, so I wipred data, cache, went to mounts and storage and formatted everything possible (except sdcard) and reflashed cm7 (per instructions). Charged my phone overnight and today I have been using my phone (as usual - no heavy usage) for 3 hours + and I'm still at 100% battery life. What gives? lol no idea what i did or what happened.

I'm not saying this is a fix, but something happened where my battery life is no longer at 40% 3 hours into my day. Any ideas?

Any further update for how the rest of the day went? My day with aospCMod was extremely poor, but mostly because I was messing with it a lot and changed the governor to be slower reacting (which I didn't realize means it would take longer to slow down as well!). But I'm giving it another day of trial to see what I can do about it now that it's all set up.. After that, if it's still bad, I'll go back to scott pilgrim and try to optimize that more than i had it..

Not sure how this happened or if it's suppose to be like this, but I no longer have the voicemail app on my phone. Is there anyway to get the apk to install.

It's supposed to be like that, but you can install the apk, i think.....mixed results maybe? Search back in this thread for "voicemail" or "vvm" and you should find the apk.

Otherwise, use Google Voice.

not really sure if anything changed but im building a new clean nightly. mik_os has no idea why FM isn't working for us, but I think there are differences that aren't apparent.

Not in the hardware, but in the firmware (RADIO.IMG is also a Bios, like the bios that starts your computer and tells windows what hardware is where), well, our firmware reports the same hardware a little differently.

Different modes (Android Gadget (P500) vs USB Function Device (LG670))
Different Addresses (More reserved ram on LG670 because GSM doesn't need as much reserved memory space)

I managed to compile a test kernel a while back switching our USB from Function to Gadget. The interesting part was there was no USB at all (no charging, PC didn't see it, ect). However, the log files stated otherwise. The logs acted like there was no problem at all. Why? Probably because I was communicating with the wrong address space. Idk, I'm not that low-level of a geek.

So basically we have the same hardware we just have to communicate with it differently. This is probably why BT and Audio give us problems.

Currently Working

[02142011] SMS (Incoming & Outgoing) [Exception: Must keep under 145 characters, will not split long msgs. AOSP issue]
[02142011] Data (1x & 3G)
[02142011] Wifi (Connected to WPA network and surfed)

I am unable to do this. wiped all data/cache and reflashed several times (downloaded ROM a few times to make sure nothing missing in the download) Just wondering if anyone else has had issues

I'm running the current, but even 0327 had no problems for me. I connect to a 54g network running WPA2-PSK

Okay, so upon flashing, 04012011 had not fixed my issue with gapps not installing. I downloaded the gapps version 20110325 and still had the same issue. I rewiped everything and reformatted and the 20110325 worked fine the second try. I didn't try the 20110307 a second time this time. I'm not going to question it and just thank the interwebs that it worked with little hassle this time.

That said, so far 04012011 SEEMS to boot a lot faster for me than 03272011 or any previous build did. This may be wrong, I don't reboot my phone that often, but it seems like it does.

The gapps 20110325 can be found here: gapps-gb-20110325-signed.zip and seems to work great with this ROM.

Once again, thanks zefie for this great build. It's definitely my daily driver, especially now that the proximity sensor is working properly.

No issues in 3/27, going to try 4/1 in a moment. That said, did notice some WiFi changes on Zefie's Git, so I'd be absolutely sure you're also wiping system, as this ROM does not do it for you when you install it (and who knows, having old WiFi files + new ones could just cause it to not work)

I noticed an odd bug with 0327. if i turn on wifi from the notification bar and off on the menu settings (or vice versa)it errors out and freezes up the wifi toggle in the notification bar. when its frozen wifi needs to be cycled from the menu settings. curious if this happens on any other phones.....

When i switch nightlys i just wipe: Cache, dalvik, and then flash debug system.

.... nvm... Just updated to 0401 and it seems to have resolved its self....
