Are you using the cm7 RC for the latest builds or is it still the nightlys?

So what is better? ASOP'S CM7 or Scott's CM7?

I just got AOSP's up running properly finally, and first thing I noticed is it totally went away with the stock launcher in favor of zeam. No big, since I use Go launcher anyway. But otherwise, it's essentially the same - except for native wireless tether. The ability isn't there in AOSP, but you can still use wireless tether app from the market. In terms of performance, it seems a bit snappier than scott, but that might just be me, and the more thoughtful tinkering I did when setting it up. After I get a better feel for how it performs throughout the course of a day, and how the battery life is, I'll be able to better compare it to scott. But I originally decided to try it out since I was getting pretty poor battery life on scott (then again, it might have just been the way I set it up). Bottom line, AOSP is definitely built well, but I'm unable to give it a proper evaluation just yet. I'm leaning toward keeping it, though. But keep in mind, it's built for the optimus v, so there's a patch you have to flash (zip file) to make it work with the S. Not rocket science, but still, an extra step..

I've heard a lot of people complaining about battery life with AOSP. l haven't used it so I can't say for sure, but with zefie's current nightly I'm running at 748Mhz and I've been off the charger for over 11 hours and I'm at 74%, with moderate usage.

Do you ever use your phone?? Lol, under normal circumstances I could go 11 hours and probably be down around 50 or less. Then things got wacky, then I tried out AOSP, and that's where I'm at now. In fact, I'm about 30% down after 5-6ish hours, so that would be about the same. I just feel it's a bit snappier at times, but we'll see..

Like I said, moderate usage. I made a few phone calls, backed up all my apps again, played some games. It might've been a little lighter because I went to work for a few hours and didn't really use it, but I never turn off WiFi. I've been using it as my mouse for my PC for the last couple hours so I didn't have to get out of bed and I'm still only down to 69%.

Damn. Impressive. Only thing I can think of is if you have no widgets running or anything like that which could be sucking up juice like mine. I'm tempted to flash a bare-bones rom and see how that fares before I put all my apps back on, just to see if it's something I'm doing..

I run Launcher Pro with 3 home screens, with a total of 7 widgets across all 3 of them. I don't really leave things running at all. When I was running ThundeROM 1.7 and I had 5 screens full of widgets the battery died much faster, without WiFi on.

I'm used to using 5 screens, but I wonder if going down to 3 would make that much of a difference.. Thoughts? As for widgets, I've just got beautiful widgets super clock on the main page, some rss feed widgets (static, on manual update), a mint.com widget (also static, manual updating), pandora and winamp widgets (but only really active when I'm playing music, which isn't often, and a calendar widget ("pure calendar widget"). Maybe that's too much.. :-\

I installed this ROM (4/1/2011) build on Optimus V. The native wifi tethering works the first time I turned it on but it reboots my phone if toggle it couple of times. Has anybody experiencing the same problem or maybe this is just because my phone is Optimus V?

I don't know if using less screens would make that much of a difference. The only widget I have on my main screen is the Google Search bar, though. When I first got the phone I covered every square inch of every screen with widgets and shortcuts, then I realized I wanted to SEE the wallpaper I had chosen, so I lightened the main screen up (aside from the search bar I have a shortcut for Gmail and Google Voice in the bottom corners and that's it). The only auto-updating widgets I have are Facebook, News, WeatherBug Elite, and Youtube, and none of them are on the main screen.

I'm not entirely convinced that widgets really use that much power, especially when they're off screen. I'd worry more about things running in the background. I think what was killing my battery before was AVG, which I have since ditched. The only things I have running constantly other than standard services are WootWatcher and Weatherbug Elite, and neither seem to use all that much power when I check Battery Usage.

I noticed an odd bug with 0327. if i turn on wifi from the notification bar and off on the menu settings (or vice versa)it errors out and freezes up the wifi toggle in the notification bar. when its frozen wifi needs to be cycled from the menu settings. curious if this happens on any other phones.....

had something similar happen a few days ago, didn't think anything of it because i couldn't ever get this issue to repeat itself

could be that you're on a V, also could just need a reflash. some did have a problem with the phone rebooting after turning on wifi tether for the first time but reported that they didn't have any problems after that.

finally was able to connect to secured wifi network after redownloading and putting the new rom on sd card from a different computer. (windows 7 home premium 64bit must not like me moving files from desktop to to phone) lol

Using the latest build noticed my Bluetooth is trying to work sounds distorted but starts loud and by the third ring can barley hear it anyone else having same thing? Think its awesome to hear anything you're awesome at what you do props.

I'm on Optimus V and I saw an issue in another post about the phone restarting when trying to turn on native wifi AP. For me it only seems to happen when I use the power control widget.
