Hello All,

I love this ROM and would like to continue using but am experiencing 8-10 hour battery life. I do not have Facebook synced and really only use Email, Gmail, Calendar, Beautiful Home Widget, etc. I have SetCpu set to autodetect. Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve this? I?m showing the phone is awake about 50% of the time.

Please help.

I purchased launcher pro. It has a few widgets for Facebook and twitter and I use those on the home screen rather than the traditional ones or other 3rd party ones. I'n fact I use all of the widgets as they are all full screen and nice.

I figure I would rather have 1 process a little larger, built by a good programmer than 3 others running indecently.

Its been real snappy, and you can set their update settings in launcher pro.

That may help your battery life, I use juice defender also

What was your battery life like on the past rom?

Also check out these new transitions they just added

YouTube - Screencast of Launcher Pro's new homescreen transition animation

What does your battery life chart look like?

I forgot to mention sometimes if gallery stays open it will kill battery also
Its because it scans the sd for new media all the time.
This can also get kick started by charging it via a laptop.

Is it possible to integrate into the rom, something to automatically kill it if its open for more than 10 minuets or something?
I find myself manually killing it a lot because it will jump to the top of the battery use screen

Well when I flashed over v1.6.2 without wipe, I had horrible battery life. Then I did all 3 wipes and reflashed and it works perfect now.

Which do you recommend standard or EX

Standard to get your feet wet. EX when your ready for real control. If you use standard and want to keep it then it's free.

We both use EX. Amazing work and the fact that his standard is 100% open source (EX will be sometime in the future) is incredible.

Just got standard and wow........ Once I get used to it I will definitely get EX. I am loving this I wish I would have gotten a droid earlier.

Force closes in my rooted Optimus

Hi i rooted my Optimus maybe 2 weeks ago. At first everything was Ok, until 2 days ago a lot of applications start to foce close. Also sometimes the screen freezes and i need to take the battery out. I have ThundeRom 6.2(the lates) and ADW Launcher EX. I dont know what is going on in my phone.

Also if I un-root the phone, the recovery mode will go back to stock? or it will stay as custom recovery? I use z4root and it gives me the option to un-root, but i dont know what it is going to do with the phone. I mean it will delete all the apps and system data from the phone in order to un-root it?

Well i buy ADW launcher EX, but the answer for your question is no, they don't start after i use adw EX.

I know it's been asked before, but I would like to see Japanese locale support in this ROM as well. Not sure why LG decided to include korean+chinese, but not japanese locale. IME isn't that big of a deal for me, I rather use Simeji which works much better on a small-screen phone like this.

You should of posted in the rom thread it would of got you answers quicker.Ill be moving this thread to the rom thread. It sounds like you have a app doing something wierd.I would try first booting into recovery and just wiping cache partition. If that doesn't work i would try wiping everything and installing the rom again before i went all the way with unrooting. The screen not turning in a issue that happens to almost all optimus phones stocked/rooted,etc,etc. We are looking into and trying to find a way to solve it.

I have an issue - I tried Thunderom 1.5, switched back to my stock nandroid backup, then eventually tried nRom .4, which I installed over the stock system without wiping (as its instructions say). Decided I didn't like it, but I used Titanium Backup to copy some things off of it, including LG Hidden Menu that gives access to Roam only, 1x only, etc, etc. Then I installed Thunderom 1.6.2 (following all the instructions) and used Titanium Backup to restore everything, including LG Hidden Menu that I'd gotten from nRom. Then I started having some weird issues - the battery drained 8% in five minutes and netQin Mobile Guard was showing some weird programs as using 100% of the battery life - including com.lge.hiddenmenu, com.lge.LgHiddenMenu, LGHiddenMenu (all of which I had restored from backup), and then a strange suspicious one that never showed up by this name in backup: com.lg.sprinthiddenmenu, which also showed up sometimes as some weird name with a "u" on the end that I can't remember - something along the lines of "Hidden Settingu". It would only show one of these at a time, which one depending on how much I had tried to uninstall them.

At a certain point, after many attempts at uninstalling, including through Titanium Backup, none of this was showing up in any listings of installed applications, but a running task would show up sometimes in task managers.

I eventually got rid of all this nonsense by restoring the stock rom again and then reinstalling ThundeROM. Now the battery life still doesn't seem to be quite right. Does anyone know 1) how I can gauge if the battery is draining as it should, and 2) whether or not the stubborn programs are any kind of malware?

Thanks.

edit: and 3) Whether any of these hidden settings programs are supposed to be in ThundeROM by default? When I reflashed, I believe one or two of those showed up in Titanium Backup as already being installed.
