Just wanted to say thanks to all the developers of this ROM. It is awesome. Did not even play with stock, unboxed and flashed 1.5, and just got back from vacation and flashed 1.6.2.....LOVE IT..........Thanks for all your hardwork. This "little" phone has more balls than alot of the other "high end" phones stock. I know my brother is hating paying 250 for his Hero months ago, and even though its running CM6 my Optimus beats it hands down and it was FREE!!!

Thanks again

ok flashed back to thunder from lego I just like thunder more for now. ok beezy I gotta know what you got going on to get a 1501 quad score. I have the deluxe buildprop flashed with tr with no setcpu overclocking and your kernel. just a few helpful tweaks would be appreciated

Okay Ill give away the big secert:p
You have to warm it up.lol Here's how i do it.
-install setcpu
-run stock speeds 600/245,run qaudrant 3-4 times.
-go back to setcpu go up to 729/245 run qaud 3-4 times again.
-go back to setcpu go up to 748/245 run quad 3-4 times again.
-go back to setcpu go up to 806/320 run quad 3-4 times again.
-go back to setcpu go up to 864/480 run quad 3-4 times.

I seem to never have problems if i warm up to it. I run the ondemand governor. If 864/480 reboots on you try 864/320. If you try just jumping from 748 to 864 you'll probably get reboots. Now my secerts out:'(

Are/could there be any plans for exposure control on the camera? I have to say that this is almost a deal-breaker for this phone for me. My Samsung m510 took beautiful pictures, especially of skies behind silhouetted treelines, because I could adjust the exposure down to avoid washing out the sky. It's really disappointing that my fanciest phone yet has a severely limited camera. Is there any way around this at all? Even if the actual exposure time can't be controlled, might there be some way to manipulate the process of converting the raw sensor data into a jpg? Thanks.

Also: Any way to get a long-press on the Menu key to bring up the dial pad? It's a phone first and foremost, and it takes so much more effort to make a call on this compared to just flipping the thing open and pushing buttons.

stupid question:

Is the BuildProp-JIT-Only.zip in LEGO the same as BuildProp_Stock.zip in ThundeROM 1.6.2?

apps2sd same as Apps2SD Pro?

Can someone clarify this for me? On page 83 of this thread it talks about ThunderROM not supporting apps2sd. Is this the same as the marketplace application Apps2SD Pro?

I've been using the latter to move applications, etc., to the SD card, but if it has a high chance of damaging the card, I'll count myself lucky and quit before I do anything to damage my card.

Thanks.

Kevin

Small difference. Performance changes are the same but buildprops are slightly different. I suggest using LEGO with LEGO and ThundeROM with ThundeROM

Those are 2 different things. We are not talking about froyos ability to move apps to the SD card if the developer allows them. We are discussing a hack which allows you to create a partition on the SD card which the phone will force all apps into that partition and run them all from it.

I've been using a buildprop from lego with TR and seems to work fine. should I bother to use a TR-specific one instead or is it not that big a deal?

Nah if you've already flashed it's completely fine and not worth the time. That was more for anyone who might flash in the future. LEGO has a couple of changes in it that ThundeROM doesn't (will in next release) so for the time being it might be recommended to just keep the buildprops separate.

Hey Beezy, what do you run for an SD card? I notice that your IO score is much higher than what I can get on my phone. My IO score is usually in the low-mid 400's. I've got a SanDisk 8GB class 4 card. Are you running with the SD unmounted?

Here's a screenshot of my new personal best.

Crazy. I have no idea how you score so high in the IO. I just ran mine 4 times, and scored between 377 and 457. And you can run stable at 864? You must have the golden phone. :p

I can run stable at 864,i tend not to.I mainly run 600 all the time.I OC when i need to then i back down to 600. I guess i am lucky and just have the golden phone,i would think your card would preform way better then mine.

Hi I am new to android central, and basically I am here for my brother who just got the Optimus S. I have an EVO and I usually do things on XDA. I just have a few questions before I root my brothers phone and put the thunder rom on there. First let me say this thread is good and I have ben watching people respond to other people's questions and I'm liking what I see. question #1: What kernel is this ROM using? When I looked at the first post it says xxxKERNELxxx. #2: I believe I saw it right this ROM has the fancy widget clock w/ the weather? #3: Is anyone using juice defender or avanced task killer? I dont personally use those on my EVO. #4: Does this ROM have the gingerbread keyboard? if it does not, I saw the gingerbread keyboard.apk in the EVO thread would it work if I installed it on this phone or no? and #5: this is probably the most dumb question, is the LG P500 the same as the optimus S? XDA had a thread for the P500. Thanks for any help Nate

1)Custom kernel i compiled.
2)It has a the clock widget that comes on the phone and can't remember what other ones.lol
3)Don't use task killer. Some have said they get better battery without juice defender.
4)Has the gingerbread keryboard,
5)Nope they are different. Only phones this will run on is the Optimus S and V Sprint/Virgin mobile.

Thanks for the quick responce. This custom kernel how much does it allow you to OC the phone I'm seeing up to 864 or something like that is this correct. I highly doubt I'll OC that high but JW. I believe I saw that the cpu speed was set on boot MAX 745 and MIN 245, is this still correcet, and do you recommend using set cpu or leaving it the way it is? How does the phone seem to be running at these speeds? Last question and sorry for all these questions by the way. I know each phone can differ from each other do you or not recommend installing the 600 CPU kernel.zip I saw floating around here and ajusting it my self, or is that something I'll just have to see if the phone like or not on my own? Thanks again Nate

SO SO SO SORRY to post back to back Seriously one last question. The buildprop-Jit-ONLY.zip what is it and what does it make the phone do? Thanks again
