Make a nandroid, back up apps (titanium or mybackup), wipe, then try.

If he wipes then it will surely work cause he wouldn't be flashing over anything.lol He should try flashing over the top and if it doesn't work wipe and then flash.

Back Out Boot_600_Max?

ive been having some problems since flashing over from 1.5. Not ragging on this rom i love thunderom and greatly appreciate the hard work you guys are doing. since flashing over from 1.5 ive been getting the sd unmounting problem. i never had a problem with that on 1.5 for previous, will formatting the sd card help? this sd card is from my hero not the stock lg one. and ive been getting random reboots at night. i noticed because the TWS was back to 50%, i usually do the airplane trick after reboots. what can i do?

Hate to bring up an old issue, but my experience was the same as holangja1's. In my case, I complicated things by doing too much at once -- I upgraded to TR1.6.2 from TR1.5 and I installed Launcher Pro. It was shortly after that that I started having sdcard issues. I have 32gb Kingston class 4 card. My first thought was that overclocking was causing the issue so I applied the boot_600_max.zip file. This did not make the problem go away. I then disabled Launcher Pro and went back to the stock (TR1.6.2?) launcher. While I have only been running this way for a day, I have not had any problems with the sdcard. I need to run like this for a few more days before I am confident that Launcher Pro was the main contributing cause of my issue.

I did not follow the instructions at http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-...d-card-issue-problem-mounting-unmounting.html when I installed my sdcard so if I continue to see issues I will give that a try and see what happens. If problems continue I will reformat the card and try Launcher Pro again.

That's a lot of background to get to my real question. Now that I have applied boot_600_max.zip, how do I get rid of it? Since I am no longer blaming overclocking I'd like to speed things back up and add another variable to the puzzle. I also flashed the deluxe build props and the "kill OTA" zip prior to the boot_600_max.zip.

Thanks a bunch.

I dont know if this has been discussed before. i did a search and didnt see it. But is there any way to make certain touchscreen buttons on the dialer more sensitive than they currently are. Whenever i push "dialpad" or "speaker phone", during a call i need to push down very hard, for the phone to sense the touch. even the "end" button, during calls, is not very sensitive. Im wondering if this is made this way so we dont face dial, but its pretty annoying. any way to fix this?

When's the next version of thunderom coming out and will it include the new VC update

@mgardner323...Come on man! If you would read a few pages back you would know they are already working hard on the thundeROM with this new VC update. They also go into some detail by telling us they are looking for the best possible way to go about it. I'm sure once it is complete we will know about it. Just keep reading the forums and checking in.

@beezy...Thanks a ton beezy! The flash has worked great at ridding those annoying messages, and so far, no issues.

I do have one concern though. After flashing the zip I decided to run a Quadrant test to see where I was at with tRom and it seems my score is back down to stock levels. Around 480 or so.

Is this normal? Is there any other step I need to take or settings to tweak after this flash?

It's not a huge deal and I'm sure the updated tROM (if/when) will be speedier once again, but if its something simple I am not doing it would be great to have the speed back.

Thanks again for all your amazing work...

No worries fellow rooter... There is a ton of material in these forums to keep up with. Maybe I took your post wrong and felt some impatience coming from it. I apologize if I seemed rude at all. It definitely wasnt my intentions. Also, I didnt want to post my problem without helping or answering yours. I totally know what its like with a couple of youngins. At least your wife sounds like knows what a ROM is to appreciate it. LOL

is there anyway to set the long press home key to open something like 'perfect task switcher' ?

Thanks again beezy! The deluxe build prop brought it back to life!

To KSmith and Beezy: About 3 weeks ago I asked about my screen freaking out right after TR 1.6.2 came out. I asked if it could be the software and you seemed to be against it. But today, I flashed back to 1.6 and I haven't had the issue since I flashed down.

Now I find this strange because I seem to be the only one to have had this issue. But I am happy(I think) to report that after flashing down to 1.6, I don't have this issue.

Just wanted to keep you both in the loop, and give my feedback. Keep up the great work guys!

So your saying you updated to stock VC then rooted and are now running ThundeROM again?

A little info for any that want to try cause it's devices and we can stop you.lol
I updated to VC and then installed 1.6.2, you will more then likely have the hands free pop when your phone first reboot let it do it's thing then go in and try updating profile and prl.
I also reverted back down applied VC again installed 1.6.2,this time i cancelled the hands free, this was not the best idea i had.lol You will only have 1x, so don't cancel it if it pops up on you just wait till its done.
If you do decide you want to try Thunder after you have updated to VC then i highly suggest that you make a nadroid backup in case you start to have problems of any kind.
We are working on a update to bring all the new stuff into thunder. At this time we don't have a deadline or a time frame because we don't want to say hey it will be ready the day before last:p or anything like that because we won't rush testing and tweaking. We don't feel that would be fair to you the user.As soon as something is ready for release will get it posted.

Thanks,
Beezy:D

Okay upon further inspection....no it did not update to VC. I am still on V9. As of today I started receiving the notice again to install the system update. So I again restored the image backup I made with nanoid and rebooted. Thne ran the system update. When it reboots my phone to the recovery menu I get an error. I'm sure you guys have all seen it. So I think I need to move restore something else that I am missing when going throught the unroot and restore (sticky).

Hello don't know if you were trying to save space, but there are no sound effects in the media root. Easy enough to add but thought you may want to know.

Ps: Sorry if this has been a topic but I don't have the time to go all the way back. I went as far as 3 or 4 pages.

Out of curiosity did you ever try reflashing 1.6.2 over top of itself to see if it cleared the error. You might have been able to go back into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache and reflashed 1.6.2 again. It's possible something got screwy during your first flash and an error occurred. Might not hurt to try.

I was having a lot of lag and freezing problems when I first flashed LEGO Rom, decided to reflash it and it's been running like a charm ever since.

Ok so I didn't know that the media folder was created on the sd card because while flashing it wouldn't allow anything to be created on the sd card till I pulled it and formated it. Sorry for the useless post.

Just a screwed up sd card format.

Custom partitions

I just switched phones from th HTC hero to the Optimus S. Is there a way to use Fireratscustom partition to get more memory for apps? It would be very amazing if we could. And by the way, ThunderRom seems really stable for daily use, which I wonder why it's recomended not to use as daily.

I'm very curious about the LG keyboard that is posted in the Lego rom thread and want to try it without flashing to lego. Can I flash the LG keyboard zip under TR? From what I can gather, it should be ok, but would like some input before I do it. Also it wont replace the gingerbread keyboard will it?

There were a couple of guys looking into Firerat's but couldn't get it to work. And who said ThundeRom shouldn't be used as a daily? It is rock solid. I'm not sure where you received that info but it's incorrect.

You can flash it no problem and the gingerbread keyboard does not go away.
