Freddy your right...I just reflashed the stagefright build and then the xionia kernal and It is 2.2.2 I wonder if it was because I was using a legorom buildprop i dont know what i did wrong but all seems to be working now =]

Yesterday when I put the new thunderrom version onto the root of my sd card and then I went into recovery to flash it and it wasn't showing up only the other version? Thanks so much! Also I messed around with that partitioning which I knew nothing about and it erased everything on my sd card. I have an 8g sd card.

Eh.....what?

well i try the wifi tethering and it gives me this softap error... it failed to start softap and failed to activate wifi interface

I think im just going to use wifi hotspot my parents paid for it... the only reason i want to use wifi tethering is because i herd its faster

Eh.....what?
I'm sorry I'm not very good at explaining things :) Yesterday I downloaded the ThunderRom v1.8, then I put it on the root of my sd card, then I went into recovery wiped data, cachet, davlik and when I tried to flash the v1.8 I didn't see it I only seen the v1.7. So then I messed around in recovery still with the sd partition and all everything that was on my sd card was erased, so rebooted, put the v1.8 on the root of my sd card again (because it was erased), went to recovery and flashed the new v1.8 rom and it worked. So my question is I'm not sure what numbers I'm supposed to be using with the partitions, I don't even know what numbers I applied when I messed with it (which I shouldn't have). I have everything backed up on my computer because I know that when I do go back to partition my sd card the correct way things get erased. I hope I explained that better for you. Thanks for your help.
Tina

Post #2 has the instructions on how to use it.

See the second post at the beginning of this thread. It requires a little bit of setup on the front end but it works great.

Love 1.8, but my battery seems to die quick now... I unplugged it and with a refresh ROM startup... I left it on my desk for 2 hours, without any use... and it was 81%

Check your apps. This is by far and away the best battery life I've ever had on any android phone. I can get 2 days without charging now without any problem.

You may want to reset your battery. That's what I did after flashing and its great

Can you use a task manager or should we avoid it? When I go to applications and view running services it only shows 10 and I know a couple of my apps run in the background but do not show up.

Don't use a task manager with android and if you want to be a good friend to someone, if you see they have one tell them to remove it and reboot the phone. They'll thank you in about a week.

Stagefright is optional.

Do mot use older buildprops.

1.8 kernel cannot overclock

Weird, it shows that another posted that not me, anyway. So Hardware and Jit are enabled by default and the stagefright .zip that gets put on the SD card is optional? Correct?

So no task manager at all? Just let the apps that run in the background run? Does this not kill battery life? Sorry if that is a dumb question.

Apps don't "run" in the background like you might think. They just get suspended in memory and stop using any power (aside from power it normally uses to keep the phone on). When you use a task killer, your phone needs to continuously keep reopening + processing those files which *does* kill battery life. Some processes will keep relauching automatically, then you keep killing them, then they keep relaunching and draining the battery. In many cases, people create their own battery life problems by using task killers (and then they start using the task killer even more trying to "fix" the problem...)

I'm having a problem with my screen timeout. It's set at 30 Sec and still will not go off unless I hit the power button.

Mine and my husband's phones are doing that, too. We are both running 1.8. His did it while running 1.62. I was running 1.7 before and I didn't remember it doing that then. It's not that bad if it does it when you are charging, but I'm sure it's draining battery if it's not plugged in. I've just gotten really good at remembering to manually lock my phone. We have a 4 year old and a 6 year old -- they are both too smart for their own good and know how to find "Mad Birds" if I leave it unlocked! LOL

I have no other App's, after the 1.5 - 1.6.2 I have made it kind of mandatory to just wipe all the app's... I have the default TR1.8 installed... and the only app is Dolphin Browser, which I uninstalled and it still dies quick. Unplugged it this morning from 100% went though daily stuff, sent 183 texts and thats completely it... now I have 63% :| and I have my screen brightness turned down... vibrate only.

Not to sound ******ed, (lol) but how do you reset it... If there's any way? Unless you men't the wipe battery stats.

P.S. I am not running a Task Manager... (like normal) so that's not my problem.

I actually strongly disagree, I use a task manager for killing thing's that DONT need to be running..

I don't mean any and all i dislike... thing's like youtube. When I had a very good stablilty of 1.6.2 going. I could go a good 18 hour's just normal texting without my battery dying quick. It would slowly drop.

One night I hit youtube and I fell asleep... woke up from 91% to 56% battery. This is with it "closed" as you would say. NEVER happened before, I open my task manager every once in awhile to see what's running. Without further explination's... It was youtube that killed it.

You can strongly disagree all you want, but android has a great garbage collection system, and using a task manager mucks that all up.
