Did you settle for the 8GB version?

Apparently I bought 2 8GB ones. My order went through, even though I didn't know it.

If both end up going through, I'll have an extra one to sell to someone in the GTA.

Edit: Make that 3. Oh God, I don't know how many got ordered.

Edit 2: Make that 4. .

LMAO

I ordered shortly after it went live and I tried for the 16 and it kept having errors and after hearing how fast it sold out overseas I just settled for the 8. In reality that will probably be plenty for me, I also own a 32 GB iPod touch 5G that I always have with me loaded with music games and such.

How did you find out they went through? How did you not know how many were on the final click?

Were you trying to order when it all happened? Everything was crashing, the wheel was spinning, pages weren't completing, errors were popping up. There was no notification that anything went through. I found out afterwards because I got three confirmation e-mails and I was like "WTF?"

The shopping cart was randomly emptying itself every few minutes, and with multiple browser windows open it wasn't hard to end up with a bunch of units popping up unexpectedly.
Plus, you couldn't actually check because every screen was lagging for minutes at a time.

Checking your order status is easy - Play Store, scroll to bottom, click on My Orders and Settings.

Got an 8GB but I have the 16 GB tab open on the play store. Hopefully I get lucky and can add one to my cart and actually check out. Then I'll cancel my 8GB one. I'm fine with 8 Gigs as I still have 12 gigs left on my nexus 7. Kind of wish I got the 8Gig nexus 7 now.
Anyway, next year I hope they learn and a) make the play store better and b) Make 16 GB the smaller option and a 32 GB the Higher option. No more of this 8 and 16 GB crap

I went for the 8GB because I don't think I'll need more space especially since I have a 16GB nexus 7.

I got the 8, 16 was already sold out but didn't matter. I haven't added 1 MB of extra stuff to my 4s so I don't any other space - I have 2 ipods for my music collection

I tried repeatedly as soon as it opened to get the 16GB but never could.. Made it to the final step of verifying my billing address several times even but always errored out or the cart emptied itself etc.. When it appeared that all the 16GB were gone I went for the 8GB and managed to get one. I plan to use it and see if I really want the N4, if I do I'll throw the 8GB on craigslist and order the 16. I've got almost 80GB of dropbox storage so I'm not to worried about not having enough storage for a few weeks...

8GB is sufficient. Cloud-based mobile use, especially with a service like T-Mobile with unlimited date, is a privilege. Moreover, if you live in one of their 42 mbps areas you won't be hampered by dropped data connectivity. I live in LA, for example, and have 4G wherever I go, with the odd, odd exception here or there when it drops to Edge.

Anyone in NYC want to swap a 16 for a 8 + the difference in cash?

My concern is if there is an issue and a return must be made that the serial number won't match.

I decided to go with the 8gb at the last minute, I just couldn't justify spending $55 dollars on 8 gigs of flash memory when I know it's worth $1. I would use my n7 for gaming and I have a 32 gb flash drive that holds all of my music in my car. In the end I just need copilot(approx 2 gb) and some productivity apps(approx 1gb) on the phone with the occasional 500mb-1gb in videos; still leaving me with approx 2 gigs left for pics and whatever else. Plus I have a 50gb dropbox account if I need to offload anything.

But, I guess if you need the extra space then you need the extra space. ;)

Can u guys ask and reach out to Google and give us an estimated time when will be the next stock. ?PLEASSSSSSSSSS :),. I hope I can get mine before thanksgiving. I just ordered HTC DNA and I realize HTC sucks at updating their software....like my HTC Incredible 2 that is still runinning Gingerbread . :(

I'm always baffled why people get all upset about no SD or <16 GB. I mean if you absolutely need 'on-board' and 'always connected' storage then sure I guess I understand, but otherwise - you can always root your phone and spend approx. $1 - $3 to buy a Micro to USB OTG Host adapter and connect as much Friggin' storage as you want. Problem solved.

Needless to say: I went with the 8gb option, however I was just trying to order one - and didn't care either way. 8gb was my first choice though.

I managed to order mine at 4 PM EST after giving up within the first 30 minutes of that Google Play store nightmare. Seriously - Google needs to learn how to stop F*cking up a Nexus launch. This is two consecutive years it has been a catastrophe (Variable this year for some).

Side note: It's not acceptable in a Brick & Mortar store to allow someone to walk past you and take your merchandise as their own and check out, so why would you allow it to happen online. Lock your available in-stock based on who has what in their shopping cart (timed to keep people from hogging) vs that nightmare of letting everyone add only to find out someone else was faster on the click that resulted in errors or losing your shopping cart contents . . . .

Yeah, I didn't have the option to "settle" for an 8GB. I actually went in wanting just the 8GB, and I got in there right as everything started at around 8:40 PST. I went straight for the 8GB and got it in my cart, but I could never get the checkout to complete. I got as far as to where it looked like it was charging my card, but then errored out and it never made it that far again after at least 100 attempts. Most of the time I couldn't even get the window to pop open to choose my payment method and address.

Damn you, Google. You run the most widely used website in the world. You should do better than this.

I went in knowing I wanted the 8gb, so I did not settle. All my music and docs are in the cloud. My photos are automatically uploaded to Dropbox. I never watch video on my phone. I looked at my Galaxy Nexus and I only use about 2gb for apps. So I could not see spending the extra $50, although I did get the bumper.

i was always going to get the 8gb version now that google play music is now live in the uk i can get rid of spotify :)
