Keep getting installation failure

I keep getting installation failure, I've tried both download links and have tried to install, I am going crazy right now.

Note from Mydroidworld-

If you are rooted and have removed anything from the system directory at all, the official OTA update.zip will error because the updater script runs checksums on the entire system directory.

You have to be bone stock for any official OTA now, part of the new program.

looks like i will sbf to add in the bloat wear that i removed. SBFing now. i will report back rolling the sbf fixs the error i was getting.

file size

i thought i saw earlier that the file size ota was 70mb how come this dl is only 25.7 - im scared to install this and get stuck with an issue in the future because of missing necessary items

No reason to be afraid, your phone won't accept the file. I've tried all the mirrors. You and your X are safe

update not working. downloaded to root SD card keeps on saying installation aborted . anyone can help

Sweet SBF worked. it added the missing apps back in, and loaded up with no issue.

That reminds me. Did you ever hear the story about the 911 emergency number release years ago? They originally designated it Nine-Eleven, thinking that anyone would be able to understand it. That didn't last long, since they were quickly flooded with calls asking where the Eleven key was.

By the way, my install completed with no problems after I hit the eleven key.

quick note, if you have rooted and deleted any of the VZ loaded software, (city id, and so on) the update wont work.

I was able to SBF, and add back the bloatware back in and the update worked great.

I was able to reroot with the z4root program I heart 1 click roots solutions.

Okay so I downloaded and ran it while I was rooted and it went through fine, apparently I am still rooted cause z4root gives me the option to unroot. Madden NFL is there and says I'm running 2.3.340 android 2.2.1 with BP_C_01.09.07P baseband. So guess all I can say is yay me.

Just to clarify, I was rooted but I did not remove any bloatware, just had it rooted for tethering. Well goodnight and thanks for the downloads people.

I think it is failing due to the build.prop. Mine is failing also it verifies the package then checks the current system version and fails. My current system version is 2.3.151 and the update checks for 2.3.15 so the installation is aborted. My question is wouldnt moto have checked for this? Is there 2 versions of the update? SBF ing back to 2.3.15 should solve the problem. I have yet to try though because I am not at home.

I am running the leaked version of 2.2. Would that have anything to do with the installation aborted?

It is failing for anyone with a system version of 2.3.151 I just had 2 others try while one person succeeded but they had 2.3.15. I also tried to rename the version in my build.prop it passed the original check but then failed the account and sync checksum. looks like 2.3.151 users are effed until the actual OTA is released unless you want to sbf back to 2.3.15 but I have 130 apps installed so I am just gonna wait.
