You can read a lot about the Droid X2 from the Motorola support page. Almost like having the manual. You may want to look quickly in case they take it back down until launch.

Go to https://motorola-global-android.custhelp.com/app/answers/list/kw/droid x2/search/1

Includes Bluetooth profile support which I will also post separately. Note that this content may change. I don't think they meant to release it yet. E.g. under the HDMI section, it has a note to include steps and screen shots
DROID X2 - HDMI

How do I use HDMI on my DROID X2?

Your DROID X2 is equipped with a 1080p Mirror Mode via HDMI.

HDMI allows you to display user content, applications, games, browser and more on a large screen TV.

Tip: If you are not able to view the entire display of your DROID X2 try adjusting the HDMI output.

Add steps and screen shots here.

I'm trying to edit my documents I have on my internal/external storage and my app can't update the file?

The Motorola DROID X2 supports up to 4.5GB of internal storage for personal data, you can also add an additional SD storage card up to 32GB. Since this is a fairly new technology, certain application found on the Android Market may not support file management that will draw documents from both sources. If you're currently using a particular application that isn't finding your documents from your internal storage, try moving them over to the external card if available.

DROID X2 - Benefits of Dual-Core Processor
https://motorola-global-android.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/67176/kw/droid x2
What are the benefits of a dual core processor?

Think of dual-core as a measure of how much more your phone can do.

The dial-core kicks into action when surfing web sites with flash content, or when rendering heavily scripted websites. The DROID X2 is faster to load on such rich media sites, than a single core device.

The DROID X2 has the power to drive dual displays; Connect yuor large screen TV to the 1080P-HDMI out and play high resolution games or watch falsh content with clarity on both displays.
There is also a chart comparing the two devices. I'll try to reproduce the content here in (badly formatted) text form but follow the link for a nicer looking chart...

Display Resolution WVGA 854x480 resolution display qHD 960x540 resolution display offers 26% more pixels for greater detail and image clarity

This was a great find. Thanks for the tip!! Looking through everything actually makes me pretty excited about the release of this. I have OG Droid X and I am really looking forward to the Droid X2. Thanks again!!

PS -- They never actually called the overlay on the original X Blur when in fact it really was a much lighter version of Blur. It should be the same overlay that is going to be included in the Gingerbread update coming for the OG X.

Very nice to see a manual before the device is released. Thanks for sharing. Although the tech pubs groups needs a better editor with the spelling errors.

Wow, thanks for the source. It's nice to learn how to use your first android phone before it gets released. I'm gonna make sweet sweet love to my DX2 with my fingers and thanks to this information it will be consensual. HAHA

If this means you CANNOT GET motoblur for the Droid X2...Does this mean stock? I'm now confused.

Edit: Didn't see someone pointed this out:P

I was hoping there would be an article about the RAM type but couldn't find any info. Tons of other useful and exciting articles though. Awesome!

I find it very annoying that every site skips or omits the RAM that is in a device, especially the mfg's site and the carriers site. When someone does a hands on they always skip it as well and its an important part to know.

Well, I HIGHLY suspect that the bits about the "Can I get MOTOBLUR?" on the device are in fact referring to the "old" Blue found on the earlier Moto Android devices such as the Cliq, Backflip, Devour etc. That was the Blur where you had to set up a separate account. The Droid 2, 2G, Pro and X/X2 all appear to use the new "ninja Blur" where it's more in the background and less obtrusive. That's what the support document is referring to.

I expect the X2's firmware to be basically identical to the current leaked X Gingerbread once it gets updated. The X2's shipping Froyo will probably look like a weird mix-up of the X's leaked Gingerbread and the X's Froyo (like the Atrix).

This. I was playing with a Defy and my fianc?'s D2G, and the Droid blurs are NOT motoblur.

Although it still sucks. Launcher Pro ftw.

agreed, I'd like to know if it is in fact DDR2 or 1, and the size of the battery. Since the user above with all the links, I checked out what moto said about battery technique, and it said the bigger battery the something with a BP6 or whatnot is available.. so is it safe to assume this phone will ship with the smaller capacity battery that was in the OG X?

BH6X is the "almost stock size" higher capacity battery for the X. BP6 is the stock battery.

Battery drain does worry me a tad, as I can pretty much crunch down my X's BH6X battery in a full workday if I don't monitor it carefully. I am sure those extra pixels of the screen + the Tegra2 in general will be pretty power-hungry. Still, the X2's battery life is all but certain to be a substantial amount better than a Thunderbolt!

I'd wager DDR2 since that's what is found on nearly all the Tegra 2 devices thus far. I think the Aver Iconia A500 uses DDR3 but it's pretty much DDR2 for smartphone now from what I can gather.

At least more people are starting to take the innards into play. No FFC. Tell me, other than those who travel all the time, why waste a powerful device for face to face chatting? I mean, I tend to use a phone so I don't have to communicate with people face to face.

Also, with what i've read on the atrix, the 540x960 screen causes extra work, but only on games that only run native resolutions. So, I think, for the most part, this thing will be AT LEAST as powerful as the Atrix.

hmm.. will that be enough? I assume the Tegra will be able to maneuver its abilities around battery performance, unlike a single core that just nom nom noms on the battery regardless..

If it proves not (which would really be a terrible oversight), could always buy the 1800 X battery and cover all OEM from amazon, together for $40.. no too terrible.. but it makes a $200 phone. $240 + tax.. then of course the car mount since I use the og droid as my GPS currently.. oh and the new HDMI D to standard cable.. thatll be like $5 from my favorite eBay seller :)

Well, the stock battery on Droid X and X2 looks to be identical in every respect (1540mAh). The BH6X battery is 1880mAh.

In very rough calculations, my X used to be close to empty when 5pm rolled around on an average workday. Of course, most of my time with the X and the stock battery was back in the 2.1 days last fall. I've had the extended battery on it ever since right before Froyo hit.

Now with the BH6X I can squeeze a bit more out of it and make it until 6:30 or 7pm easily with the extended battery. I am definitely expecting a battery life hit if I go from the X to the X2 but I hope that GB will mitigate it somewhat and also chalk it up the price paid for superior CPU/GPU power and screen resolution.

But yeah, I am definitely holding out hope that that Gingerbread may improve battery performance somewhat on both the X and X2. I know that having the official Gingerbread installed on my Galaxy Tab has made for a considerable improvement in battery life over Froyo.

Hint: If you eligible for an employer or corporate discount from VZW, you can probably pick up an extended battery + cover for around $25 to $28ish if it's on sale. I bought 2 of 'em that way a few months back.

The car mount is superb and worth every penny. I prefer it over myOG Droid's car mount.
