Id like to 2nd that request. Regardless of what anyone says I ran the same apps and settings on drew's and zefies and my battery life is far better on zefies so I would be interested in knowing any tweaks people are doing cause I gotta be missing something. @bakethis I read that article weeks ago and it helped a little but there wasn't much I didn't already know @ that time. Also I didn't even overclock when I ran drew's rom as the rom was responsive enough as is. I overclock on zefies maybe 10 mins out the day. When I spent 10hrs rooting this bad boy back in early may with Jondevere he told me overclocking isn't necessary 100% of time so I never got in the habit of doing it so I know that wasn't what drained me so fast.
All the basic stuff: http://www.androidcentral.com/keeping-your-charge-how-improve-battery-life-your-android-phone
And flash in recovery: http://db.tt/G5Og7Xa
I'm posting this again just in case you missed it dizzle. That file and that guide are about all you can do. I regularly get 24+ hours out of mine. Emphasis on the file!
Also, charge to 100, go into custom recovery, advanced and clear battery stats. Then don't charge it till the phone dies. That will help make the battery life more accurate. Make sure its at 100% before clearing it though or it could cause some issues.![]()
Love the rom! OTA updates are amazing, only problem ive noticed is that when checking for rom updates, if i rotate my phone it cancels the check. Running ex-006Sorry but one last thing just to be clear LOL. You say charge to 100% go into recovery, clear battery stats and don't charge again until it dies?
Now that battery stat tip I didn't know about and will try thanks for that bakethis. Buy let me ask about the Collin_Ph_battery tweak because that I did flash before but I do have set CPU even though I removed profiles after flashing before. Now let me ask, I'm one of those people that doesn't do anything to my phone without doing a days worth of research and when I looked @ the battery tweak thread they said its not for the faint of heart. And I haven't used my terminal emulator since I got root. So my question is if I flash do I need to set profiles and stuff on terminal em b/c I would say I'm comfortable enough to go messing around in terminal emulator or do I just flash it and let it do what it does. Also I know set CPU will be screwy but would I need to uninstall it? Also does it really work? LOL sorry for that last question but I'm kind of a straight to the point person. That's for enlightening me. Let me also say I flased battery tweak about 2 days before flashing drew's rom about 2 weeks ago. When I decided to go back to zefies I did a restore and lost battery tweak so I'm using set CPU at this moment
Actually, the default profile is what I have run since KYSmith ported it to our phone and it's been great! Make sure to uninstall anything that controls the cpu first, ie SetCPU. In this ROM we have the option to control cpu settings in the cyanogenmod settings under performance. Make sure that you uncheck the 'set on boot' before flashing the tweak in recovery.
Also, the terminal emulator interface is quite user friendly for this tweak (if you choose to modify). AND, you can easily see that it is working by doing the following: (after flashing and rebooting) -go into cyanogenmod settings > performance > cpu settings. note the current cpu speed in mhz. -plug in charger and again go into cyanogenmod settings > performance > cpu settings and note the new cpu speed in mhz!You will notice it will fluctuate with the difference in power supply, usage, etc... It actually works great. I used to experience lag while running an app that would control the cpu based on the same variables. But, running this script causes no lag or undesired results. (it is speculated that the script causes an issue with a certain app while using it with Drew's CM7, but we'll see if you notice
I don't want to give it away because it probably won't effect you
)
Thanks for the Info. I might reflash everything tonight (drew's rom, battery tweak) because I'm s.p. is starting to lag today for some reason. I only have one signal bar and web pages are taking forever to load
Any word if the mic will be fixed when the headset is plugged in?
Do you have a nandroid of the stock ROM still? Make a nandroid backup of your current state, then try switching back to stock and check to see whether you can receive calls on your Sprint number from the stock ROM. While you're on stock, maybe update your data profile (I think it's settings > about phone > update profile).Hello all. Just flashed the most recent stable ROM to a Sprint Optimus S this evening and have run into a problem. Followed all instructions, everything flashed fine, but the phone is now using only the Google Voice # associated with the Google Account. I can't seem to find any way to get the phone to use the native Sprint phone #. Have I missed something? Even uninstalling Google Voice, all calls are coming from the associated GV#. I've checked the online account, nothing has changed from when it was stock LG ROM.
There must be a setting somewhere that I'm boneheadedly missing, right? I'm not a dev, or even a big techie, but I can follow instructions, have rooted & flashed ROMs before, and to my knowledge didn't change any settings here to cause this. Please help!
eta: Disconnecting the phone from voice.google.com has restored the original #, so I'll reinstall Voice on the phone, then re-link everything, and I imagine it will be fine.
edit#2: so in reinstalling gVoice to the phone, I only get two options: "Use my existing Google Voice number" (all calls/texts will display GV#) or "Use this phone's number" (will replace my GV#). In setting up GV on a stock ROM, there is always a 3rd option, to choose which # to use. We need to use the original Sprint #, but still want the GV# forwarding to the phone--I don't want to replace one with the other. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a "feature" or limitation of using CM7 on the Optimus S?

The idea is to see whether this is an issue on Sprint's side or with this ROM. If you can get the Sprint number working on the stock nandroid version, then switch back to the last nandroid that you just made and see if the phone number works.
What about if you reactivate GV on the website rather than through installing GV app? Then instal the GV app after you've got GV set up the way you like through google.com/voiceYes, I made a nandroid backup, but had not restored yet. My first assumption being that I made some boneheaded error.
I can get the Sprint # working in CM7, however, after having disconnected it from gVoice from my PC. Soon as I install gVoice back to the phone, however, it's only giving me the two options to use only the GV#, or to replace the GV# with the Sprint#. This leads me to think it's not a Sprint issue--should I still go through restoring the stock nandroid to confirm? (also, if it matters, I did update profile and PRL prior to nandroid backup and wiping.)
I've got the whole family using GV for voicemail only/as a second incoming line, so missing that third option has me really puzzled.
