Rebooting issue
Stable 08/09/2011 version (2)
I am pretty new to CM7 came from reborn 2.2.4
But today I had an issue and am hoping for someone to help me with.

This is all the details I have , most probably have nothing to do with the issue.

After installing some market updates,
google maps, wireless tether apps. etc.
I changed settings to report anonymous statistics on
And changed settings to to allow application moving to on
Install location to external

in a few minutes from then the phone crashes and restarts.
I thought no big deal about it and thought it may of been a settings thing.

I now have an issue with a constant cycle of this
Phone crashes and restarts
SD card Apps do not load for a while (sometimes do)
External apps load then unload themselves,
phone crashes and restarts.
Sometimes the external apps load sometimes they go on and off.
ADW launcher (standalone) almost always needs force close or wait.
Then crashes.

Here is what I have tried so far.
Clear Dalvik,
Clear Cache,
Dirty Flash Rom
Reflash Gapps

There are a few things that I find odd too
When power off , it restarts instead of shutting phone off.
When taking battery out and plugging phone in (with Battery) it boots up phone.
It always says I have one voice mail and one email when restarting phone ( Even though it is false)

If there is anything I am missing or any help that people can give it would be greatly appreciated.

Right now I am watching external apps finally load and see the CM7 splash screen.

As for your crashing and rebooting:
Are you overclocked? If so, did you check the box to appy on boot?
If so, lower you OC, and uncheck that box until you know that your phone will run stable at that speed.

As for your other issues:
I have no clue! hehe

no when I was able to check between boots it was at 600
It was never changed

The only thing I didnt do is clear data re-flash Rom over.
I can probably do that, but wondered if there was a fix or someone else had this issue.
I can reboot into recovery before the rom crashes so booting there is NP, that is what I did when I cleared cache and dalvik.

Yes it says to flash or do restore.
That is all it says.

I have a question. Is there a setting that controls the length of a call on this rom? I have noticed that calls are ending at the 45 minute mark. I have replicated this over ten times with the exact same results. The first 5 were on the stable version before the latest. And the second 5 were on the latest stable version. The previous stable version was my first cm7 install on a optimus s. It was done with a full wipe. Recent version was flashed over the previous version with only dalvik being wiped. I looked everywhere(cm7 has alot of settings) and I can't find any settings on call timers but it is happening to me. I have looked for this subject on all forums and can't seem to find any help or anyone stating this issue. So I am at a lose. Even it is a minor inconvenience, I still would like to know if there is something I can do. Thanks to anybody that can help me.

cm7 is slower to get full running after a reboot. Takes a lot longer to get everything loaded after the unlock screen as compared to reborn rom

A LOT longer. A couple of minutes compared to a few seconds.

Well I did the zip . Launched it after data wipe/dalvik etc.
Reloaded CM7
Loaded Gapps
restored some user apps,
And its still doing restarts.

Mine was randomly resetting a while back, I'll think back and see what I did to fix it.because I doesn't happen too much anymore....rarely....once out twice
Every couple of days. I would start over and install only neccessary apps.

Also what version of gapps are you flashing...? Any data you are restoring? If you run it vanilla from clean flash does it happen?

Yes, that was my next question, was what are you changing once booted (as far as settings go) and what apps are you restoring with what data? Apps from another rom, ie reborn to cm7, can cause issues. Good question magicman about the gapps version.

EDIT: Try a fresh install and download your apps from market that you want. Also don't change any system settings and see if you have issues for a day or so.

I just want to say thanks for the help I got here... my phone is working perfect now. Communities like this are really cool... people going out of their way to help people they will never meet for no money or mention? Kind of restores my faith in humanity! lol We should get politicians into this whole thing!

i cant get the governor to change it keeps going to smartass the moment i leave the performance menu...and stupid question where is the cm updater?

You report bugs on this thread! The cm updater should be in your list of apps! And why would you want to switch from smartass to another governor anyway? Lol!

Yes, that was my next question, was what are you changing once booted (as far as settings go) and what apps are you restoring with what data? Apps from another rom, ie reborn to cm7, can cause issues. Good question magicman about the gapps version.

EDIT: Try a fresh install and download your apps from market that you want. Also don't change any system settings and see if you have issues for a day or so.

Yes I did a fresh install and reloading apps a few or one at a time to see if its a conflicting app.
So far its all baby steps but sometimes that needs to be done. I will report anything I find.
Working so far except overwrite ne.wer email with older one.if I can find a copy of newer one

Check the Optimus 2X theme I found at xda. I had to manually change the adw icons.
