Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

has anyone had this problem with the stable build? (CyanogenMod-7.1.0.2) :

when i play music in cubed (aka ?) or the stock player, and i have headphones plugged in, with my screen turned off, the audio messes up and starts sounding glitchy. it only goes back to normal when the screen is turned backed on, regardless if its locked or unlocked.
This has been mentioned before. Try changing the settings for the cpu governor in the cyanogenmod settings. You can increase the low setting to 600 or use "on demand" governor. I have the "on demand" with min 600 and max 806 and it plays fine.

edit: Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance > CPU Settings.

that's the smartass governer....

it will force the cpu to the min speed with screen off...you can switch to a diff gov or crank up the min cpu speed.

i usually just change the gov when I'm listening to music with the screen off...which isn't that often

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

noob question's...

1~is it normal for wifi hotspot to drop when using phone?

2~is there any reason that i shouldnt try to update prl/profile... (my hotspot signal speed has dropped alot the past two weeks, and wanting to try to increase it...)

You may now refer to: http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...p-general-roms-rooting-related-questions.html for question 2. It seems a coincidence that the answer to your number 2 question just happened to fall into post #2, question #2 on the referred thread.

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

Okay, I got my contacts and sms back up. This is what I have done. I downloaded the app "Phone Backup" by Li Guotao from the market. Backed up everything that I needed; there are 6 things that you could back up using the app: Contacts, Call Log, SMS, Calendar, Alarm, and Browser Bookmark. It will take a little while depending on the amount of data you need to back up.

Reboot into recovery and flash/wipe, then installed from zip as the instruction. Reboot the phone. Download "Phone Backup" again and restore. At first, the restore will stay at 0% for awhile, but it is actually working. It is just slow to update the progress of the restore process. But if you go to your contacts list while it is restoring, you could see your contacts being populated.

I didn't need the apps to be backed-up, so I did not use Titanium Backup.

From my install of Gapps, it doesn't work for me. I have to download Google talk, Google Goggles, Google Voice, and Google Maps from the market. But Google Books works though. But I want to uninstall Google Books, FM Radio as I do not have a bluetooth radio receiver. Is there anyway for me to uninstall these two apps? Thanks.

Gapps doesn't seem to work properly with the new version of the market... If you want to fix it, goto manage appications > market and select uninstall updates. Then go into the market again and you will see the normal menu for gapps pop up!

Titanium Backup can uninstall apps that seem impossible to uninstall. Open it up, go to "Backup/Restore," click on the app you want to get rid of, and click "Uninstall."

Build ID: Stable-002 / Ex-006

Apparently it is a usual cm7 issue, but screen rotation/orientation does not seem to work properly. Have flashed and re-flashed but it still seems to make no difference. Issue exists in stable and ex. Any fixes/workarounds?

What is the issue?

Well, I have noticed that immediately following a fresh flash orientation works perfectly fine through the initial setup but as soon as the partwith the progress bar (just before finishing initial setup) finishes, the screen is locked to portrait. It matters not what app I am in, gallery won't rotate and nothing else will either. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I can reproduce this on both stable and experimental, both after full wipes.

There is a setting to change it under settings > display settings > auto-rotate screen. Is it checked?

Oh. Wow. How on earth did I miss something that obvious? Also: why is it unchecked by default?
