Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

I thought the new kernel was included. Does it need to be flashed separately?

Nope. Dont think its included yet. Flash it separately. :)

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

First post here. I successfully got this ROM up and running and have worked out most of the kinks except one main one that is still bugging me...

Any apps that have a constant icon and info in the notification bar/dropdown, such as a weather app for example, have started shutting down after a couple hours in CM7. I'm assuming this must have something to do with the way that CM7 manages apps, but it is rather inconvenient to have to keep opening my weather app to get the notification back.

Is this a known issue? Any fixes?

Thanks!

Stable 002 has the older version of the kernel then. Gotcha. Hadn't realized yet that there was an update for it now. I'll update that then

Look into my FAQ. There is a file in post 2 question/answer 2. It pertains to you. You should follow the instructions I have listed even though it says its for a different issue. It should clear everything up for you.

So I should download the Debug-FormatSYSTEM.zip, do a backup of my current setup, wipe everything, flash the debug file, and then flash back to my original setup?

Are any of these apps moved to the SD card? If so move them to the phones internal storage.

Don't use backup/restore options from recovery. You need to start fresh so you will wipe everything then flash again. I have the steps listed in my FAQ. You can use titanium backup to backup apps if you like but nothing more or you will reproduce the same issue. It's actually recommended that you download all the apps from market again.

I've had the same issue, but only with Beautiful Widgets. It's the only program I have that updates notifications each hour for weather. I didn't format/reflash the ROM, but simply adding a widget made the weather updates keep happening as they should. I had notifications turned on but no active widget before that. It's been fine ever since. Just my experience if that helps at all. :)

I had a lot of issues even restoring with TB.
What I found worked best is do new app download from market of whatever source
Then restore data only from TB. But do data restore only on apps you need to.
Game saves, bookmarks,etc

I've also found this to be the best way to do it. It takes more time and effort up front but saves a lot of headaches in the long run.

Not that anyone really knows me....or that my thanks means more than anyone elses...but i just have to say thank you very much for this awesome work. Thank you Drew and Crew. Great Rom. Im enjoying it very much.

Id also like to state that ive tried others, and appreciate them just as much. I've learned alot the past few weeks and continue to learn more and more. Maybe someday i will be abe to contribute to what seems to be a great community. ;)

Smile everyone...Don't let life getcha down.

P.S. I added a lil sumthin sumthin for the Cyanogen walls! Enjoy.

Themes don't determine my decision on ROMs. I don't really theme mine. I theme my wife's though. And she has Reborn.

I thought there was plenty of downloadable themes in the market for this? Am I mistaken?

There are plenty if everyone looks hard enough.

I am using mixer. I installed it through the apk given in this thread http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/99999-cm7-mixer-theme-issue.html and enabled it through theme chooser.
To see how it looks like, go here: [CM7 Theme Engine][HDPI/MDPI] Mixer Theme..Updated 7/26/11..Now with Purple/Red. - xda-developers

edit: oh I see that you were talking about some specific themes. I ll just let it be here, just in case someone's interested.
ps1. 1000th post in this thread.
ps2: battery life with stable 2 is amazing.
