Ditto. Though my personal belief (well, hope) is that one of the other JB exploits will work and all this waiting is giving time for those smarter than myself to figure it out. Even if JB for the Bionic had been released with the D4 or RAZR, I would have waited...so I probably wouldn't be running JB now, anyway
It's virtually impossible to truly "brick" a device these days. I don't even consider it a risk, anymore, just a potentially annoying and time-consuming detour.I'm actually considering FINALLY rooting my Bionic tonight. Even thinking about installing one of those JB ROMs. Bricking risks aside, is there another good reason not to customize my Bionic all the way? After all, it's EoL with no warranty coverage. It's already lasted far longer than my first iPhone.
Knowing my luck, the JB OTA will probably be aired the week after I take the plunge!
IMHO, I'd not bother with any of the JB ROMs for the Bionic. They're still pretty buggy. No good reason not to try one of the several solid ICS ROMs, though. My favorite by a good margin is Eclipse. If you DO want to try a JB ROM, though, I suggest the CM10.1 one.
The soak is this weekend from what I understand. The OTA will probably be rushed like ICS was, if there is no issues.

Yes, they are. However, I'll remind people here what I've had to remind others. Soak emails going out does not mean the update will be pushed to your phone a few minutes later. For the D4 and RAZR it was almost 2 weeks. So don't get too excited. MAYBE it'll happen faster given that we're last, but, I wouldn't hold my breath just yet.
Very good, considering I wasn't planning on anything before the end of the month.

Darn...haven't received the email, though I "was" part of the ICS soak. Maybe because I have a replaced/refurbished device since the ICS rollout.

I have nothing to not reveal. Don't know if invites are staged or if I just didn't make the cut this time. Good news, however, even if the actual soak is still days or weeks away.

Well, if its an ICS-like soak, it won't matter much....we'll probably get it the same day!
I don't have the bionic anymore, but when I did I had this problem. To fix it I went into Settings>Battery & Data Manager>Data delivery>Social Applications and then unchecked Sync over Wi-Fi only. Hope this helps.
And that still may hold true.
It does surprise me, as we assume Verizon hasn't had the build long. Maybe their just getting ready to pull the trigger when Verizon says go. That way there won't be any down time.
