DROID BIONIC Jelly Bean Update

Sam,

Is it possible for Motorola to slip build 23 in as build 22 to get around Verizon? Something like what was initially speculated with the 246/247 builds if I remember correctly.

You beat me to the question

Sam I remember with the ICS upgrade that there was a similar scenario were you felt it would be better if we got 247 instead of 246 because of the ease of transition to JB. But later you found out 246 was essentially the same as 247. I know there isn't anyway you could know this now, but is it possible what we are getting 23 packaged as 22?

No. Had I known how to read the tests better back then I'd have realized that 246 and 247 tested identically. 22 tested badly. I'm told by someone who says they still have access to the test results through another means that 23 tested very well. I have no way of verifying this myself. But I saw the 22 test results. They sucked. Badly.

Sam, just for my peace of mind (and based upon my memory), Build 22 does not have the crISIS issue correct. It really sucks that sucker blinded us! Can you discuss the possible other issues as you understand them with Build 22?

/me walks away slowly whistling innocently..... ;)

If I remember back to Sam's info (or "read between the lines" correctly), build 22 failed (at least in part) "because" of the crapware installed and that the removal of it is why "23" passed.

Do I have that right Sam? And you're telling us vzw is deliberately pushing out a version they know failed, just to include their crapware, rather than give us a working version, albeit without the crap?

I can neither confirm nor deny that vile rumor. :D We'll have to wait til we get our hands on 22 and find out what the hell VZW has made Moto do to it. But, if I were a betting man...and I'm not...I'd say you're pretty close. ;)

Ok, so here's the deal. This is interesting stuff. From what I understand now VZW agreed to pull ISIS from 22. That leaves this build in highly unknown territory. Nifty. Also soak starting this afternoon. Probably around 3pm.

You are scaring me man!

Would that then be basically the same as 23? Also, if they were to remove it as you said, would that in itself automatically give it a different build number?

That's a damn good question that I don't know the answer to. I would have thought so but I'm being told no. I really have no idea what's going on anymore and it sucks not being able to see the builds. ARGH. Guess we'll wait and see what kind of "fun" this update brings. LOL

This whole thing is like an enigma wrapped in a riddle tied together with a question mark!

The Motorola feedback network is very silent.

Also surprisingly no post from punit sonI.

Fortunately I was able to interpret these feelings correctly: loss of essence.

Maybe its a 3 part update. Part 1 ~100mgs. Parts 2/3 to follow next month some time. ;)

Fortunately I was able to interpret these feelings correctly: loss of essence.

If you were him, would you post before you knew it was going to be a nearly flawless launch?
