Is it all extracted in there now? Specifically the 246_FXZ\system.img file exists? If so, rerun my commands. Remember when they're done successfully to power off and boot up into recovery to apply the update. Do NOT let the phone try to boot at this point until you've applied the update.

I'd say we're getting to the heart of the problem now.
Let's do this manually. Open the FXZ zip file with your zip extractor of choice. Go INTO the folder inside the zip so that you can see all the files. Select all, extract directly into the 246_FXZ directory.do i need to extract the update and boot img in the 987222 folder they are zipped now nevermind when i extract the 987222 and palce it back in the file there is no option in the HoB prompt window for 987222. I guess it has to stay zipped.

The boot.img isn't zipped. The update should stay zipped. Those 2 files should be the only thing in 987222.
the boot img you had me download is compressed however I cant uncompress it is this causing the problem

ok I have extracted the fxz to the 246 folder all the fxz components are in a folder named VRZ_XT875_6.7.246.XT875.Verizon.en.US_CFC_01.xml . Do they stay in the folder or do I put them into the root of the 246 folder. The 987222 folder has the zipped jb update and the boot img I downloaded from you. never mind there should not be a sub directory.
I know Flash is "officially" unsupported on JB, but does anyone know if there's a way to overcome this? I mainly want to be able to watch Amazon Instant Video on my device. That or Amazon could actually release a video app for Android devices that aren't Kindles...

You'll have to find someone who has the last flash apk and side load it. And then pray.
The guys over at XDA had a version of flash that I was using in ICS....worked fine. Not sure if JB changes that.

Not sure if the site I tested this on was still using Flash, but the directions are likely the same as when we had to reload it to ICS. Go to Google Play, then to My Apps, then to the All Apps tab. You should find Flash in that list (even when uninstalled). Choose to reinstall it, then you will have to use the stock browser (or some other flash supported browser) to view flash. From what I've heard, Chrome will not play it at all.
I tried that, and unfortunately the Play Store wouldn't let me reinstall. It's still listed under "All APPs" but I think I'll have to try to find the APK.

Samuri I know I was a huge pain in the *** today but it worked my phone is now accepting the jb update. It sucks I lost root but in comparison to having a useless phone I will hope for a root exploit soon.
What we did with the cmd prompt is it the same as when we were updating using the HoB during the ICS leaks it was like a half of an FXZ. And tricked the system into thinking I had ICS on my phone. Also I was able to save the bootstrap backup I made will I be able to use that if I get root back.

Bootstrap is what caused your issue in the first place. Don't touch it again, even if we do get a root exploit. It is NOT compatible with JB. Your nandroid is completely useless. Other than maybe being useful for TiBU to restore some apps from I guess.
The commands I had you run are a simplistic version of what's necessary to get the update to reinstall itself. You basically restored stock ICS system and preinstall with the boot image from the update. This leaves the phone in an unbootable state, but, does allow the update to install again. It's the closest thing we have to a full FXZ until I can get my hands on it next week sometime.
Ok good to know it is a shame bootstrap is dead but it is what it is things change Im just glad my phone works at this point.

If you get root back, learn safestrap. It's come a *LONG* way. You can even backup your stock partition and restore it into a safestrap slot now. Then you can screw with it all you want. Break something? No problem....you've still got your non-screwed with stock partition to go back to in worst case scenario.
