Droid Incredible Shipping?

Ah my mistake. A girl at work just got an Eris a week ago but I didn't realize they were removing it from their system.

It is a good phone for the price. Considering it isn't the latest and the greatest doesn't make it crap.

I ordered my Incredible yesterday from Verizon, but now I'm thinking that I want the Droix X, especially since I paid full price for the Incredible ($570) and it is likely going to have a price drop soon. Is there any way to cancel my order with Verizon? Can I send the phone back within 30 days for a refund and then buy the Droid X?

Just on a whim, I decided to call 4 stores in my area, 3 VZW stores and 1 Best Buy store to see if anyone had a stray Dinc in stock, no luck. VZW stores said all NY/NJ Metro area stores would be receiving their stock in late July. Best Buy is too busy selling iPhones to answer their phones I guess, the phone just rang off the hook.

Wow, that's shocking to me that someone would pay that much for a phone! I'm upgrading from a cheapo flip phone that I had for several years and I still feel bad about spending the $149 for the Inc.


I'm seeing too many people on here waiting for their phones, but not enough people GETTING their phones! I need to live vicariously through you all for the next couple of weeks. I hate waiting.

I ordered 6/12 and I think the store was confused about what the actual ship date would be. I'm going to call next week to see if they have a definite date, but I was told 7/1, then 7/9, and then 7/12. It just got worse and worse! Haha!

My question is, why isn't HTC ramping up production??? It seems like a really bad business practice because there's so many people that might have bought the Inc, but have decided to wait for the X instead due to the backorder.

Thought you all might like this little tid bit of a story. Got my iphone last night, everything seemed to be all set and dandy until about 2 hours into having the phone. It won't hold a WIFI connection as I'm constantly on the EDGE network(I have verizon fios in my house, wifi is not an issue), my phone is dented near the top by the power button, looks like manufacturing defect, and i dropped 3 important phone calls with just 1 client of mine. It was the dealbreaker.

Called verizon and had my ETF fee waived and getting the DINC at upgarded price since I've been a loyal customer to them for so long. Before I got off the phone with the rep, I laughed and said "It's good to be home", she laughed and we parted ways.

My question is, why isn't HTC ramping up production??? It seems like a really bad business practice because there's so many people that might have bought the Inc, but have decided to wait for the X instead due to the backorder.

Its not HTC. Its Samsung. Samsung makes the screen for the DInc, and its well know that they can't keep up with demand at all. Been the problem since day 1. HTC is just sitting on its hands while it waits for the AMOLED screen shipments to come in.

Remember - a lot of folks stop looking at this forum once they get their phones. They may or may not even post that they actually received them.

I just called 611 and she said that it WILL be shipping today but it was too early and that I would have to call back later even though I should be expecting the text with tracking.

That is two different people doing research into my order (6/3) and both have said that it will be shipping today. The lady today even called the Sales Dept and they backed it up as well.

I'm still not going to get excited until I see a number with my name on it...



There is always the option of canceling your Inc order, getting an Eris/Droid and on 7/15 just get the Droid X when it comes out.

Thanks for the feedback bobguyman. My order date was 6/3 also and I am in Atlanta (same region as you). I will post something on here if I get shipping confirmation.

Ordered 6/5 but still No news....Was originally told it would ship by the 21st.....and then on the 21st was told it should be in hand no later than the 28th, and now being told it will ship not later than the 28th....I am glad I keep getting the same info from vzw! lol

Yes, I just had that exact issue. I ordered from a VW store, and was promised overnight shipping. I talked to TWO different VW reps about that it should be overnighted ... and it just got shipped to me using 2 day. I'm very frustrated.

But at least it's shipped, I guess!

I am in Panama City, FL, so of course anything I get has to come through Atlanta
