you have to make sure you have this path ONLY THIS

C:\E-Z Installer
NOT
C:\E-Z_Installer\E-Z Installer

thats what a lot of people do, just extract it and make sure the folder says
E-Z Installer

NOTNOTNOT

E-Z_Installer

the error your getting is because its in the wrong path

no problem thats what im here for :D

Use relative paths then it won't matter what directory it's in.

Re: E-Z Installer Utility! Will Root, Install Custom Recovery, et

This program worked GREAT!!!!!! Awesome interface. I've been rooting phones since 2005 and this has been the easiest program to use. Thanks again.

Re: E-Z Installer Utility! Will Root, Install Custom Recovery, et

pretty much a newb here... had rooted my old samsung intercept, but got a new optimus s and wanted to do the same...

ran ez installer and rooted with custom recovery with little to no problems. Only hiccups were in not watching phone for SU prompts (saw this in the dos prompt the second time around, but somehow didn't see it first time). Also (and this is super obvious to most, but some people may come here and not realize it if they haven't read around a little before) it might be helpful to make it clear upfront that you'll need a couple things before running this utility, like installing Superuser and downloading USB drivers. Again, obvious to most, but I don't think that's stated in the how-to, and some people who come here before reading anything else on rooting might not think to have those.

Re: E-Z Installer Utility! Will Root, Install Custom Recovery, et

I get stuck at here:

Code:
[+] Detected Froyo!
[+] Found system: 0xafd14129 strcmp: 0xafd1cb9d
[+] Found PT_DYNAMIC of size 264 (33 entries)
[+] Found GOT: 0x000142a8
[+] Using device /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0
[*] vold: 4595 GOT start: 0x000142a8 GOT end: 0x000142e8

I've waited forever and nothing happens.
USB Debugging enabled, superuser app is installed, but no prompts that I can see.

Any clue what I'm doing wrong?

sprint ruined LS670ZVD 2.2.2 just fyi.

Re: E-Z Installer Utility! Will Root, Install Custom Recovery, et

Thanks for this it worked GREAT! I am coming from WM and am new to android rooting. This was just what I needed. I did my first android root, made a recovery file, and changed to RebornRom last night. I do have 3 quick questions.
1. On your recoveries tab, I know xionia's(this was the one I used and was very happy) and dsrellisdee's are just 2 different recovery programs that do about the same thing, right? But what is "v9 stock recovery" I could not find that one by name searching?
2. Thess are more of a general rom questions. Can I take the backup I made(660mb) and store it on my pc instead of my SD card till I want/need to use it.
3. I did do a Titanium backup but then I was so excited to get the rom working working I forgot to do a wipe before installing it. (so obviously did not need to do the Titanium restore) Everything is working fine now. Should I do anything about it? Like wiping and going back to the backup then wiping again and loading the rom?

Thanks again.

thanks for the inquiries heres the answers to your questions
1. V9 Stock recovery is Sprint's STOCK recovery like the recovery you had when you first got your phone.
2. Yes you can i do it all the time.
3. It is HIGHLY recommended that you wipe cache, wipe data/factory reset "dont worry about this factory reset it doesnt cause a brick like the one in the menu does in settings so DONT EVER DO THAT, and wipe dalvik cache in the advanced menu EACH TIME BEFORE FLASHING A ROM! Unless you want to experience some random problems here and there with your rom so backup alllllllll system data/apps everything then go and wipe all your stuff then flash the rom and restore with titanium backup.

Re: E-Z Installer Utility! Will Root, Install Custom Recovery, et

This is what i get going both ways. :-( If someone could possibly setup another source i would be super greatful...not sure why my isp wont allow that url download.

The requested URL /alvis/E-Z_Installer.zip was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

I was pretty sure that I had downloaded this several weeks back, now I can't seem to find it. I would appreciate a good like for this as well.

I was able to install it from market.

I've since managed to flash the phone. I had to resort to reverting to v9, root, then back to VCD so I could maintain root access after boots.

Mind you I started with no knowledge of flashing phones and hopes of 1-clicks working, but all of them froze up until I reverted to v9 using the LG mobile tools. By that point I'd already memorized almost every command necessary to root so didn't bother with the 1 click apps :/
