Error: Process com.android.email Force Close

Ok, so I wiped everything and started over. I got to sc 2.8v + NitroDark fine, no FC errors. I set Titanium Backup to restore app + app data and went to bed, woke up, rebooted. Email FC... sigh. So, I'm thinking it's something in my email, or gmail app. Not sure though

dont do tb. or do one at a time. restart and check email after each one. your tb data is gonna end up being the problem.

I had the same issue when I loaded SC 2.8 and Midnight theme from Bigloof at XDA, he suggested 2 things. 1. the theme I was running (Midnight1.2SE) was referencing an old Gmail. He has a patch, the link can be found under the Roms, themes and kernels thread by Jaekarr99, or maybe DroidX has it, that guy has everything!! 2. He had me load Steel blue for Superclean 2.6 and it worked like a charm, no more force closes with anything. Hope this helps

I had this problem on 2.4 as well without a theme and 2.8 with and without the theme, so the theme isn't a problem.

New problem is that after wiping data, cache, dalvik I'm now again stuck at the boot animation. And after multiple cache wipes I can't seem to get the phone to boot all the way <insert sad face>

Using TB to restore all is your likely culprit. I had an identical issue and I think I narrowed it down to the Google Search(Enhanced) 2.1-update file that I was restoring. I don't think this is needed anymore so don't include it in your Titanium Backup Restoration. Try that and see if it helps. When I deleted that from my restores, everything worked as it should.

flash rom again.

I've done that via red cwm, doesn't work, still won't boot, and as far as I can see there isn't an odin flashable version of this rom. Unfortunatly in my haste to get to work this morning I forgot my usb cable. Looks like I'll have to wait till I get home, disable voodoo, flash eb16sc2.8 non voodoo via odin and try that.

I'm pretty sure it was the prayer that did it, because I've done exactly those steps like 10 times before and it didn't boot. I know it can take some time the first boot in order to rewrite the internal file structure, but we're talking 10-15 minutes of boot animation

Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik, relflash superclean 2.8v, wipe dalvik, pray

now go easy with titanium back up. if you can just set up the app your self, then do that. check your email after each app install. restart after each tb restore. try setting up the app your self and just restore the data. again, one at a time.

right now I'm just reloading the neccesary stuff, rebooting after each restore. How do I go back once I find the one that causes the problem, because I assume I'll find out after the fact.

I'll pass on the sweaty man hug =)

I think I actually got launcher pro working now, google was downloading all my apps automatically and something went sideways, so I uninstalled it, downloaded it again from the market and rebooted, then used tb to restore the data and it seems to be working fine. We'll see in a minute if/when it boots up again

Ok, so I've seemingly fixed all the problems.

I didn't reload email or google enhance search from TB that seems to have fixed the email FC problem.

Looks like it all works now, just took much data wiping, formatting, reflashing and cursing

ty again for all your time and help, I'm sure I'll stumble into some more weird errors when I break it again and I'll be back

But for now I'll just lurk and peruse other's problems =)
