ty again for all your time and help, I'm sure I'll stumble into some more weird errors when I break it again and I'll be back

But for now I'll just lurk and peruse other's problems =)

lo. you'll brick like the pros in no time. ;)

I'll pass on the sweaty man hug =)

I think I actually got launcher pro working now, google was downloading all my apps automatically and something went sideways, so I uninstalled it, downloaded it again from the market and rebooted, then used tb to restore the data and it seems to be working fine. We'll see in a minute if/when it boots up again

As far as the apps automatically downloading after a flash go menu=>settings=>privacy and uncheck automatic restore. And when restoring apps through TB, only choose the option of restore missing apps with data, not all apps, and definitely not any system data choices.

ooo, thats neat. what i want is a way to exclude one or two apps form that auto dl. if i dl something and try it out and dont like i dont want it back the next flash.

There we go, back up my data wasn't checked, I checked it and unchecked auto restore, awesome

The worst part about the auto download is that it almost always fails the first time, so I have to manually download it anyways if I wanted to

Well fortunately you won't have that issue anymore since you unchecked the automatic restore. Every once in a while you may get a random app that tries to automatically restore or update. I have found that when you open the market and see the app downloading or updating, clicking on the app, choosing cancel download, then starting the download or update manually works.
