Essential Order and Shipping Thread

Its 7 business days. Today is day 6 if you ordered on 16th. I ordered mine on Saturday the 19th, card payment showed up that day as pending, cleared on Monday. Today is day 4 for me. If know one here has not received shipping info by the 28th or 29th of this month, then its another broken promise....thats my 2 cents.

From August 16 all major tech media outlets...

Essential Phone preorders to start shipping in 7 days
After Essential missed its first shipping target, preorders of the highly-anticipated phone from the father of Android are set to ship within a week.

Yeah I asked yesterday if it was shipping and said if not I wanted the order canceled. Guess they are shipping out today.

I reached out to Essential again, same guy as above, Samuel Urfer, and basically ask: "wtf"?

Just received this from Samuel:

"Hi John,

Thank you for the response. Shipments will begin immanently, I wish I had more specific information for you. Please hang tight, you will get the final confirmation shortly. Have a great day!
Sincerely,

Samuel
Essential Customer Experience Team"

I suppose he meant "imminently" .

It seems to me that they will time the release of the phones at the same time their partners will. Depending on which version of "fact" you follow, that makes it 8/28, 8/29, 8/31 or 9/1.

So in that perfect social monocracy, nobody gets to benefit from putting forth additional effort.

Not to put too fine a point on this but do you really think any one of us ( or all combined) is/are more important than Best Buy or Sprint.

Add 9/8 to the list of potential delivery dates as that's when Best Buy is suppose to be shipping.

I would think though that those who reserved the phone in the beginning and have been following the progress would get it sooner than others.

I was a previous note 7 owner and Samsung is running a promo where you get $425 back for Note 8. I just preordered the unlocked Note 8 for $527 after tax + free Gear 360. Now I need to send in an iPhone 5 after which total cost comes around $600 for the Note 8 which is a killer deal.

Just can't justify the $823 I paid after tax for essential + 360 camera. Most likely mine will be returned within the first 15 days unless the phone completely blows new away.

I thought about the note but I could not do it. Don't like the look of the device nor the curved screen nor the materials or feel of the device. Plus it's too tall for my liking.

It does have great specs though.

Have you ever owned a curved screen? I can’t fit the life of me understand why people are so against them. You hardly notice them after owning a device with curves. I actually really like them due to appearance of no bezels and it just looks good. Only downfall is harder to get screen protectors. I think the Note 8 looks awesome but Samsung needs to learn to optimize ttheir software instead of just getting around poor performance with raw performance.

I just called Samsung to confirm this promotion. Its deceitful at best and downright dishonest at worst.

You'll receive "up to" $425 for that iPhone 5. But the amount you actually receive wont be confirmed until their warehouse verifies the device being traded in. I was about to snag a G4 from Swappa and do the same - but sounds like I'd eventually be screwed. Add in the fact that they wont charge you back after "evaluating" until you're outside of the return window.

All of this as a way to "treat" previous owners of the Note 7.
