Everyone happy with Pixel so far?

Anyone have any compareable examples with RF performance? I read where the Pixels were worse then the 5X & 6P.

I'm coming from a Moto X Pure Edition. I've had the Pixel for about a day and so far I only miss the dual front speakers of the MXPE.

Oh Qualcomm.

Identical chipset with a similar CPU and GPU but let's give the newer one the bells and whistles even though the 820 should be capable of the same (in theory at least).

To be fair, the GPU is able to run faster because of other improvements to the circuit design.

Either way, it's going to be fun when it's time for an update.

What is the best feature of the Pixel / Pixel so far in everyone's use that would be different from Note 7, iPhone 7, LG v20? I'm due to get a V20 when the store gets in later this week, but .... !?

Honestly? The Note7 was the best phone I ever had but you know, boom. No Iphone, nope, no way, and the V20 wasn't available soon enough, besides my general lack of trust in LG from previous experiences. I like the Pixel XL, excellent screen, camera not quite as good as the Note but still really good. Haven't done anything with the google assistant yet, not generally a fan of those things, but it has a nice solid feel to it, and is much faster than my Note was.

My wife loves her's. She is coming from a Samsuck Galaxy S6, so it's not hard to beat it.

Yeah, I'll miss the front firing stereo speakers for sure. But beyond that, it looks like the screen is nowhere near as bright based on my observations with my XPE at a VZW store. What are your observations in outdoor/bright light situations?

Wow those are big words from you -- I only say this because I have known you around the forums for a long time now and know you aren't easy on phones so you saying this is definitely a good thing! :D.
Yeah I try to be quite critical when I get phones.

The Pixel isn't perfect, no phone is, and there are aspects of it I wish were improved, however as an overall package, I'm really very happy with it. Surprisingly so. I actually like that Google are going with a uniform, iPhone-like approach with the Pixel. I think that's a good direction.

But again this is still the honeymoon period, so I'll see how I feel in a month or two.

So, I started the slow process of getting everything set up on my XL. I was annoyed with myself because I must have missed the option to download the same apps that are on another of your devices, so I had to manually go through and install all the apps. Stupid me, very annoying.

I also fired up Chrome and went to my typical websites I frequent to see how annoying the ads are. I generally found things to be tolerable, so I think I might finally be okay with foregoing the root/ custom ROM path. For now, anyway. ;)

Anyway, I like the phone so far, though I've not used it beyond getting stuff set up, just yet. I like having something slightly smaller than my N6. I also like how it looks iPhone-ish. Oddly enough, I've airways liked how iPhones physically look, but I simply prefer the Android OS and the Google ecosystem. Feels nice to be able to have both.

Glad I have 128 gigs. Having 32 on my past phones has gotten increasingly rough, because I read digital comics, I play games that take up a gig or two each, and whatnot. It's awesome to be able to have so much more breathing room.

I wasn't really thinking about getting a Pixel. After reading new buyers reviews, I see many of my concerns are common. I won't list them as it appears I'm in the minority and I'm happy if others are happy with their choice.

Sorta reminds me of the 801 in a lot of ways.

And yeah. Got the impression that the 821 is a little more than an overclocked 820.

Thanks so much for your help. Blue mail looks really cool, but my problem is no email server accepts either my mac email or password, keeps saying incorrect when I know it is correct. Even called Apple to check all is OK. Driving me crazy as no one has any answers. Any further help much appreciated as forwarding my Apple mail to gmail doesn't always work. Thanks

I'm coming from the nexus 6 and I am kind of missing larger bezels lol, keep bumping the screen area

I'm not a Google Pixel owner. And probably won't be.

But anything that the Pixel isn't, is future proof.
The next batch of smartphones; S8 and iPhone 8 are going to be miles miles miles ahead of their time.

I have an S7 edge. I came from the iphone 6s plus. The iphone with its screen and design felt so outdated when compared to the S7 edge.

Yes, the Pixel is fast. But it's not a classic piece of hardware. Not to me. A classic piece of hardware is at least 3 years ahead of its time. And being objective, the Pixel is 3 years old already.

The future is curved screens with bezel less panels and sharp designs with safety features like waterproofing and shatter resistance and cameras with DSLR quality and what not. We see even apple moving towards the future now.

It's all in the marketing.
Fast isn't a good enough reason anymore.
IPhone 6s plus was fast. S7 edge is fast too. So is the Pixel. And the iphone 7. And the oneplus. And everything else basically.

I'm an android Fanboy. But not an OEM stuck boy. I see things objectively. Pixel doesn't add up to be an Apple or Samsung competitor. Not this year.

Good for you I guess?

Wow!!!! Your spot on, I completely agree with you. I dont have a Pixel and probably wont be able to get one, but it sounds delightful. People talk all the time about how bad/good a phone is that they have never used, but they still need to express their opinion on it and they have every right. But what compels people to talk about stuff they've never used??? Oh well.
I dont think we will see any phones any time soon that are "3 years ahead" either, for a long while at least. It's disappointing but I'm thinking phone fabricators hold back quite a bit so that each new iteration has at least something a little new in it. That's all I got.
