I would use absolutely anything before iTunes. iTunes is nothing more than a spreadsheet of your music with archaic UI plus absolutely USELESS browsing mechanisms (see also: Cover Flow).
I'd use:
Zune
Winamp
Foobar
Songbird
VLC
or just about anything else before it.

Yes, okay.
I don't buy into the lack of virus on mac due to low market share. Someone would have done it just to prove it could be done, or just to spite Steve jobs. I've never used any mac or apple products, but from what I've heard about it that's just what I think.
I'm just wondering what you like about itunes over the other music players/organizers available.
Hold on a second. I said to show me what software "does what iTunes does", which is more than organizing/playing your music.
For pure music playback/organization, I use Foobar for my .flac library for almost 5 years now.

There have been viruses for OS X. They're just not as numerous as Windows ones yet. I distinctly remember one being passed along torrented versions of iWork09. It was a trojan that would do all sorts of fun identity theft stuff.
Yeah, I also love paying $500 for what a laptop does better.
Zune player is an example of it. I don't have a flac collection though, don't have a player that supports it.
Zune does more than itunes.
You shouldn't look at the world through only your own eyes. It might not solve a problem for YOU, but for many it fills a void. If it didn't they wouldn't be selling so well. Computers are somewhat intimidating for old people. Go tell this lady that she should be squinting at a phone instead or trying to figure out a laptop:

Why do you feel the need to rain on other people's choices? If it works for them, why is it such a problem for you?
I refer you back to post #47 in this thread which you never did answer.
"The most common blunder people make when the topic of a computer virus arises is to refer to a worm or Trojan horse as a virus."
The Difference Between a Virus, Worm and Trojan Horse - Webopedia.com
I've only tried it when first released and it wasn't all that impressive from what I remember. Going to revisit now though.
Such as...?
... most old folks have experience with Windows more than they do iOS. In addition, there are custom linux systems designed for usability which make even iOS look complicated. iOS doesn't even have accessibility options, which most older people need. My grandparents, for instance, love that Windows has the ability to scale up the UI/text across the board, making it much easier to see and read even on new high resolution monitors.

I believe you meant to compare Windows to Mac OS X right? Also there are accessibility options. They are found in the System Preferences under Universal Access. Apple - Accessibility. iOS is for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
