Extended Battery Options

I've bought the biggest batteries from Seidio since my Treo 755p. Had one on my palm pre and I'll have another one for the EVO as soon as it's available. I'll post stats when I get it. I've had excellent service from them. They sent a new back immediately for the Palm Pre when it was determined that it was slightly interfering with the camera lens.

Either remove this thread or change the title. This battery is not a slim battery and requires a separate black cover that adds thickness.

this is quoted from the battery description "This model fits in your device's existing battery space and doesn't require a replacement door, which makes it a perfect replacement for your original battery"

That's for the 1750 battery. Not sure if that battery will make that much of a difference.

This is the description for the 3500.

- Made from the highest quality Japanese Lithium Polymer cells
- Comes with a black replacement door featuring Seidio's signature soft touch coating
- Adds only 3-4mm to your device
- Keeps your phone charged and ready to go, even with heavy phone and data usage
- Compatible with our Innodocks
- Capacity: 3500mAh

funny theres a post about this....

I was thinking about getting this battery as well as the seidio innocase II. But then it occured to me if theres added backing will the case not fit? That would be a real bummer and I was wondering if anyone had heard or knew if in the past seidio cases had worked with extended batteries that added bulk?

Either way just food for thought if theres anyone else out there like me.

Ugh Evo comes in weds. Cannot WAIT! :(

Cheers.

The 1750 battery probably isn't worth it if you are looking for a replacement. Its only going to be good if you want to have an extra for swapping. I bought the giant battery for my Pre, but made the phone way too big. I doubt I will be buying the 3500 for my EVO.

is the 1750mAh worth it?

I would say not. Take a look at this site that shows test results for aftermarket extended batteries:

BatteryBoss Calls Out False Capacity Claims!

The extended batteries don't live up to the rating, and the 1750 mah batteries are WORSE than stock 1500 mah batteries. If they would really be 1750 mah then I'd get one, but there's no point. Better off to buy a second OEM 1500 mah battery.

I am DEFINITELY buying the 3500mah battery when it becomes available with the extended backcover.

I'm still waiting for my Evo, but I have an ancient Motorola Razr. The stock battery for that lasted less than 6 hours on standby. I bought the extended battery for it, which made it look freakishly weird... but now, several years later with the same extended battery, I still have over 10 hours on standby and several hours talktime.

Of course, I have freakishly HUGE hands, so the Evo (even with the 4mm larger back) fits perfectly in my hand, so I don't worry about size.

Bummer...big big bummer!! Anyone else have other data for the 1750mAh.

Just want to see if theres a any opposite data.

is this battery the exact same demensions? will it fit under the stock evo battery cover?

affirmative, same goes for the htc hero battery which i'm using as my backup
Is there a difference between the Hero and the Touch Pro 2 batteries though? Sure they're both the same size, but do they have the same mAH (capacitiy) rating?

If I find both, should I just go for the cheapest of the two?

Thanks!

The hero battery has the same mAH as the EVO battery.

Are you getting a spare battery?

I've read through the tips and tricks to improve battery life, but what's the point of having an awesome phone just to turn off all the awesomeness?

Looks like for for ~$30 you can get an OEM battery and a spare charger. Seems like a no-brainer to me to be able to have all the eye candy and hammer your phone and still get through a day.

I just wonder at what point a spare battery and charger will become standard a la the Instinct. I understand there's only so much juice you can cram into a battery, but I'm baffled at how companies are shipping phones like this without a spare battery. Cordless power tools come with them!
