Finally!! 6.0 OTA

Nexus 6 and marshmallow

How has your Nexus 6 been performing since the marshmallow update if you have it already?

Re: Nexus 6 and marshmallow

No issues at all. Haven't set it down long enough to notice any battery improvement. I thought the boot up seemed to take even longer so I timed it and on 5.1 it was right at 1 minute and its 1 min 23 seconds on 6.0. Not a big deal but definitely one of the slowest booters I've ever had. I like the 6 with 6 combination enough to kill the urge for a new P or X.

Nothing yet with my AT&T Nexus..... Not surprised and not fretting over it, I've resolved a while ago not to stay in that path....

Re: Fyi 6.0 OTA on Nexus 6 available immediately after factory reset

On Verizon with LMY48T did factory reset with sim out and got 6.0 update

"The same with flashing, the entire point of a nexus device is that you get the latest greatest android goodness right away without the need for rooting or anything like that"

Au Contraire , Mon frere.
For most of us true Nexus fans it is the thrill & excitement of rooting, flashing Roms that we love!

Isn't the default background a different color and design than Lollipop?

Not sure what you mean? My background/wallpaper is exactly the same after the OTA finished. The fonts are slightly different on the screen lock clock. but again for the most part I can't tell much of a difference visually and functionality wise. On day two and the stand by battery life is outstanding (I took it off the charger at 5:40 this morning as I was leaving work and with almost no use I am still at 99% remaining at 8:00). Actual in use battery life is about the same. Doesn't seem to be any better or worse.

I like the system UI tuner option in 6.0....

Re: Marshmallow first impressions

Today I was taking pictures for the first time since the update and several times the camera just didn't work. I was pressing the button but no photo was being taken. This is the first time it ever happens.

Re: Marshmallow first impressions

Hi
Got OTA update on Tuesday on my 64gb Nexus 6. So far im loving it. Battery life is so much better, my phone lasted 2 days without charging.
Took it off charge at 10pm last night, been using it most of the day and battery is at 68% at 4.30pm
Doze mode works really well, only lost 2% battery from 10pm in the evening to 8am in the morning on standby.
Do not disturb and volume adjustments are so much better and quicker to use.
I had no issues with the update, and so far no crashes.
The only negative thing iv'e noticed is that it takes longer to turn off the phone, but not by much.
This is so much better than the lollipop release last year.

New functionality that still needs to be added in next release.

Block number option in Dialer.
Auto answer when connected to bluetooth
Group types in contacts, so if do not disturb is on, certain contacts can still get through.

Keep up the good work Google
Regards

Has anybody had success with update after factory reset on build LYZ28M on project fi?

Re: Nexus 6 and marshmallow

Fully charged at 12am last night, checked phone at 7:30am not too shabby.

Re: Nexus 6 and marshmallow

Yes that IS shabby. My wife fully charges her iPhone 6S Plus then unplugs it at 9pm. At 0500 it is still 100%. By 8pm after moderate use, battery life is 80-85%. By 2pm with moderate use, my Nexus 6 is usually 20-25%. That's pathetic. My Nexus 6 is toast tomorrow. iPhone 6S Plus here I come. I've had enough of Google's BS and excuses.

Got the update on T-Mobile last night. Doesn't seem to be a very big deal. I played around with it some last night and it seems to be mostly a behind the scenes update. The physical look and feel is pretty much the same. Hopefully those behind the scenes improvements are worth the fuss.....

Did you do anything special to get the update on Tmo?

Ok here is my question. I bought my nexus 6 unlocked from Google play and I'm using a Verizon sim. Now since it's unlocked does Google push the update to my phone? Or since its a Verizon sim am I at Verizon's mercy for the update? Verizon is notoriously slow pushing out updates. Part of the reason I bought the phone unlocked is I thought I'd get updates faster.

6sPlus is indeed a nice device, but 128 gb models are a thousand bucks and that horrible baggage called Itunes that comes with it makes my Nexus 6 with Marshmallow look pretty nice!
