Finally!! 6.0 OTA

Re: Fyi 6.0 OTA on Nexus 6 available immediately after factory reset

Interesting to learn that my phone has been running a non-existent version all this time (LMY49W). Perhaps the phone doesn't really exist either.

I haven't gotten the update with my t-mobile sim, but I'm just being patient. It'll come eventually. I've already seen reports of some people on t-mobile getting it so it can't be that far out. Plus, if I were on any other phone the update wouldn't come until next year anyway.

I'm so impatient though.... Yet I don't want to flash it. I'll guess I have to wait for the OTA whenever it comes.

Re: Nexus 6 and marshmallow

Yes that IS shabby. My wife fully charges her iPhone 6S Plus then unplugs it at 9pm. At 0500 it is still 100%. By 8pm after moderate use, battery life is 80-85%. By 2pm with moderate use, my Nexus 6 is usually 20-25%. That's pathetic. My Nexus 6 is toast tomorrow. iPhone 6S Plus here I come. I've had enough of Google's BS and excuses.

My brother is always having issues with his iphone battery and he carries a power pack to get through the day. By the way, the iphone doesn't report the correct charge when nearly charged, instead it reports 100%. This is done to keep owners from continuously charging the device every time it drops a little bit which greatly shortens battery life. So, in the morning, when her iphone has been off the charger all night and it reports 100% it is plain lying. It is probably closer to 97-96%.

My Nexus 6, with the Marshmallow OTA, is now dropping about 4% overnight which I think is pretty darn good. I am getting through the day without having to keep throwing it back on a charger and ending the day with almost enough juice to run a 2nd day without charging. It is nice to not have to worry about the charge all the time like I used to with my Samsung Galaxy. It will also mean the batter will last a lot longer.

BTW, I installed the OTA manually which was a PITA because my windows machines would not recognize the phone once rebooted in sideload mode. I ended up having to do the update from a Mac with terminal.

Re: Nexus 6 and marshmallow

Sideloading the OTA really is easy. I just went ahead and did it. The battery life is much better (even with as much Hearthstone as I play), and it's fun messing around with Now on Tap (even if it isn't very useful yet).

I'm just going to sideload it but I have to get off this lame build first. Off to read the other threads on how to revert back to any build before LMY48W.

Sure Verizon will update the 6 on the 30th. Sure they will. More than likely the 30th of March 2016.

I heard that Verizon will update on the 30th

I'm hoping you're right about that. Been turning off GPS to conserve battery when I don't need it. It helps a lot... And yes, I'm to damn busy/lazy to sideload the OTA.
