Finally!! 6.0 OTA

Yeah read too many horror stories to try that. I'm just baffled ATT so behind on this one. I guess this is one of those times I'm supposed to exercise that virtue called patience (it even sounds disgusting) lol!

You could do the manual flashing and keep your data. Although to make such a huge jump, I'd do the full reset after flashing. Or just run the factory image installer.

I know, it just seems like so much work (I realize that sounds whiny as hell). I think I will end up doing that its just a matter of deciding how long I'm willing to wait on ATT.

The flashing isn't tough at all. But the full reset is a PITA.

I did the sim pull and reset option a few days ago and got the update (MRA58K). Wonder if that affects my ability to get the November security update on Verizon, since it appears they pushed it with the Marshmallow update.

Purchased this Phone from Motorola Unlocked with LMY48W Pre-Installed a month ago. Yes I'm on AT&T go figure. Just got the November Security Patch (LMY48Y) Today, 9 Days Late. Tried the remove sim card/Reset procedure and it will not get the Marshmallow OTA no matter what I do.
I have a Nexus 7 (2013) and that Updated from LMY48T to MRA58V this morning and i thought the N6 would update first. I looked everywhere for a LMY48W/Y Sideload OTA file but it doesn't seem to exist. so I guess im at the mercy of AT&T

NEVER again will I waste a dime on an Android device. The convoluted update process is a disgrace for any and EVERY Android device. THAT INCLUDES THE NEXUS 6. Shame on Google!

You can always do the pull SIM and FDR again...I would think.

Just got updated from LMY48W to LMY48Y. Looking forward to LMY48Z, then LMY48AA, LMY48AB, and so on...LOL. So far, laziness to manually flash M still overcomes impatience for M. I am on AT&T and this truly reminds me back in the days of them delaying BB 10 10.2.1 as long as possible, way way later until 10.2.1 had stopped being exciting at all.

I guess. Just confusing since I did the pull SIM and FDR which got me around Verizon, but now I am back on Verizon and missed their combo update. Guess I'll know next month if I miss out on the December security patch as well.

Not really at the mercy of AT&T. The option to manually flash M is always there with Nexus devices. It is the app reinstallation/data restore that suck afterwards. The flashing process usually took no more than 30 minutes. Then it's hours and hours of re-installing apps that really really really suck.

Interested in your situation myself. I'm on at&t with 6.0 MRA58K and at&t hasn't even approved a Marshmallow update yet, just a Lollipop November build. I wonder if I'll ever see a November update for Marshmallow if at&t follows the same path as Verizon.

Finally got the update today....had to activate my wireless connection though...usually never turn it on as I still have the old Verizon UDP....downloading as I type! I've been on LMY48T for a week or so, after several attempts to sideload and getting stuck in a bootloop. Mine is a T-Mobile purchased phone which I bought used on SWAPPA and have used on Verizon since then....

Which build are you on?

i'm have att via straight talk and i'm in the same boat. I just got the Y security update but still stuck on lollipop. I pulled the sim yesterday and did about 10 factory resets, but nothing. Another post said att is mad at google because they were not part of project fi, for what that's worth. so tired of waiting.....

Project Fi users don't have Marshmallow yet...and we're not happy about it.

That the reason I purchased a Google Nexus in the first place. I wanted to get the latest Android updates from Google; not any carrier. I don't want any carrier controlling my updates. I didn't purchase my Nexus 6 from AT&T. Why can they control my updates? Every time I change my SIM card out for another carrier, now they are in control? That is not right.

I'm with AT&T also. I installed the Google factory images for MM 6 and the latest 58R update patch. Is there something different that AT&T does to the software that would affect the phone since I bypassed waiting for the "official" AT&T release of MM 6? I hate having to install Google images and then configure all my apps all over again. OTA updates avoid this problem but if I'm at the mercy of my carrier, what choice do I have.
