Foodies Corner

Measure the bottom of your oven and then go to a custom countertop store and ask then to cut you a piece of 3/4" granite in the appropriate size. (Or buy a pizza stone.....)

Put the stone on the bottom of your oven and crank it as hot as it will go.

Make some dough... you can find pretty good recipes online. Make some sauce (from FRESH tomatoes), and buy some good quality low moisture & fresh mozzarella.

That's all you really need. Roll the dough thin and keep the toppings simple.

That sounds great!
Now all I have to do is get permission from my wife to play with the oven. :D

Thanks!

?? I think signatures are jejune.

not sure if i replied to the walmart question before - there is no walmart here and only bottle instant pancakes.

Beautiful presentations. The spun sugar cages are wonderful.

Very nice! Can't wait to see some of your dinner plates.

The last place I worked had a wood fired pizza oven imported from Italy... We made some of the best pizza I've ever tasted. I miss that oven so much I'm thinking of building an outdoor model behind my restaurant for use during the summer.
I too worked at an Italian restaurant that imported their wood fired ovens from Italy. I agree there is something about those Italian ovens that is hard to reproduce. In addition to using the oven for pizza's they also used it for Dover Sole, Whole Chilean C-Bass, and Salmon in parchment with capers and olive oil and Julienne vegetables.

You guys are making me drool.

Agreed. Particularly when my dinner looks like the making of a five year old. Time for just right for breaky.

It is! :D
Best combination I've ever created, right next to mayonnaise and peanuts!

Amazing that no one else questioned it? Reminds me of my younger days when I used to put Ketchup on eggs:

Its over here, I shop at Coles usually - mum just went to woolies because it was close to her work.
Between the two of them they probably have 85% of the grocery market.

Looks good. Have you thought of adding some kind of vegetable to break up the color, like corn or green bell peppers?
