Former Note 7 owners Pre Order Link here!

I only owe $180 on my 7 Edge,(it's on a 2nd line I don't even use) I should use it to trade in for the Note 8 and keep my 8+ INSTEAD OF JUMPING!!! I just wonder how much trouble it would end up being. I really don't even have $180 to spare right now but I could keep paying on it too until I could scrape it up.... This is so darn tempting!! but another idea I had was to hold out a few more months and pay it off and then just get the S8+ on that 2nd line and then it would probably cost me less then than it would if I kept it.!!!

Even if carriers jumped on board you would still have to own your phone free and clear to trade it in. They aren't going to pay off your balance and give you a trade in credit.

No, they won't pay off your balance but I think you can get another phone (clear the ESN) but you still have to make the payment on the phone so technically you'll be paying 2 monthly installments. (If it is a pay to own phone)

Discount for Note 8. Real or Nah?

received this and was wondering if it is real? I did purchase the phone through samsung so I don't know.

Worked for me! Ordered black with the Camera. Also I am assuming Samsung knows that I already turned in my Note7?

So what are you using now? or what phone did you use to trade in? That is what you have to turn in when you get the Note 8

I just placed my pre-order, but can always cancel it. I still have a balance on my EIP with T-Mobile for my iPhone 7+, which if I decided to do a trade in, the value T-Mobile was going to offer me is $315, but I decided to go and pay it off, and trade in to Samsung for the $425 instead.
I decided to go with the wireless charger and memory card since i can utilized it more and cus I have a GoPro hero 5 camera already and the Note 8 camera is good for what I want to use it for.

I was about to pull the trigger but didn't. I have an old iphone 5S I could trade in.

It all came out to $546 with tax with 128 gig memory card and wireless charger, a savings of $613, but i'm in T-Mobiles JUMP ON Demand plan, the newer one with 3 upgrades per year. I could get the Note 8 with $0 down and use it for a few months, pay $39 a month on Jump on Demand and then switch to the V30 or iphone 8. I don't thinks it worth it paying $546 just because I'm saving myself $613 and knowing myself, I wouldn't sell it online. I already have a Huawei Mate 9 and S8+,. I don't need three phones.
that what I'm debating if I should cancel my order. Since instead of paying $550 for the Note 8, I can just pay the $39 with JOD and if it doesn't work out for me, I can jump. But again, with this situation, we can always trade in our phone for something we want, with the value still remains high. A little tricky decision lol.

I have 8 plus. Since April. But I love notes. So I pre-ordered yesterday trading in my V20 for 425. So Note 8 was 505.but I had second thought so I went into tmobile and played with phone. Really nice snappy. And I want it. So hopefully I won't regret ordering it on Samsung. Com.

I had no intention of getting the Note 8 until this former Note 7 offer arrived. Now I'm trading in an old iPhone and getting $425 off? Plus a free 360 camera? Yes please.

I wonder what they are going to do with all these phones? Build a "cell phone" tower? Hahaha, just a little dry humor to start off this long weekend........

I wonder how many won't get the $425 and be liable for the full cost of the phone

I understand that it isn't listed , but at the same Time I also read the fine print. It reads "Note 5, LG G4 and above" it doesn't say s8 or s8 plus either but i bet theyd take that. Sure it doesnt work, but hey that's on them anyway. Besides that they are selling the note 7 fan edition too.
Hoping I can get a cut and dry answer asap.
Thanks for the reply.
They would probably take it but will they give you $425? Is the S8 worth more?

I'm going for it. My S7 Edge is in mint condition, even has that barcode sticker on the back still no scratches or anything. If they give me the default $25 I'll be raising some hell with them about the third party company they use and will do everything to get the credit back. If not I will buy the unlocked version at Best Buy next time or from Tmobile and trade it in in person even though it's less.

There were some cases with the s8 promo people sending in phones in excellent condition and only getting $25. I'm thinking the third party company has incentives for their employees on the number of phones they reject.

Raising Hell makes no difference if you get $25 that's it and no device return don't bother complaining it won't help, it's all in the fine print, read it

But they eventually compensated a number of the s8 trade in people and in some cases refunded them the difference. I can see about people gaming the system who were buying cheap Trac phones and that, but legit people like myself with phones in perfect condition that meet the specifications should not be getting rejected.

Also if they give a BS reason about the damage; if we were to pay a few bucks and insure the package and then we get rejected saying the device damaged could we make a claim with Fedex then about the device being damaged in transit?

Like myself I recommend taking video and pics of the device before shipping it as proof. Worse comes to worse you can post the videos of the device on youtube to spread bad PR about it. Maybe that would get them on the ball then.

I recall a couple people who sent in qualifying devices even said they were going to dispute the charge with their card company.

Samsung needs to do this trade-in in house.

Fed X would want the product to provide a claim and that won't happen Samsung doesn't return phones
