Has anyone determined how much data would be downloaded by a Netflix stream? If we have to download a streaming movie/tv show on the go, in HD (because what are we, Amish?), that's a lot of data. That sort of makes the looming threat of tiered data plans much more intimidating.

Storm 2?? Luck you I wanna trade my enV for the thunderbolt
I've got a freaking VERSA! The phone that was produced for like 2 months. My bf's Fascinate screen is bigger than my entire phone. The only selling point of my phone was the detachable keyboard, and that broke 2 weeks in. Come ON tbolt.

Honest to God when do you want to watch movies on your PHONE???

I have Netflix, Zune Market, and XFINITY On Demand HD all on my television..

I have ZERO need for Netflix on my freaking phone.

How lame.

Well what happens when you leave your house?
Let me list some examples for you-

waiting at airport
waiting at DMV
waiting at doctors office
waiting at movie theater
waiting while wife/gf shops
waiting for iphone 5 at apple store:confused:
bored at lunch
bored at friend/relative's house

YES. This is what Mobile Netflix was designed for.

Granted, the iPhone and iPad are different animals from an Android phone, but the iOS Netflix app uses between 50 and 150 MB per 30 minute tv show, depending on the quality of the stream

I finally got caught up reading all the posts in this thread! few! Keep 'em coming. Very entertaining!

You guys may have forgotten... but at CES, VZW had indicated that they would offer Slingbox Streaming Data as an "add on" to the normal data rate. So, if you had a data plan for "unlimited" (excluding Slingbox data), they would "rent" for an additional fee a Slingbox adapter and then any slingbox transmitted information would NOT count against your monthly data usage.

Netflix could be the same. Drop a Tiered Data rate, make Netflix data unlimited for +$2.99 per month.

Thanks for the Netflix info, Bennnnn. Any idea what other devices are getting it, and when? I have friends with Evos that are waiting for it too. Thanks in advance.

On the bus, train, car, bike, walking, waiting. Anytime you are not near your computer, you will have access to shows and movies at blazing fast 4G speeds.

Sorry...out of all of those, Bus, Train and waiting are the only barely legit, unless you're a passenger.

Not to mention I tried netflix on my Wii and on my Roku player for about a week.
This was less than 3 months ago...and they did have a few shows, but I want movies. And their lineup for streaming, IMO...was pretty thin.

If they held up the launch of this phone for Netflix, I'm severely disappointed.

If they held it up for other, valid reasons (bugs, terrible batt life, etc.) completely understand.

So when is the big announcement? Let'b be clear...I am not asking about the actual release date...us frazzled people jsut want to know when the ANNOUNCEMENT of the release date is going to happen! Is it like in the next couple of days? Should we temper our entusiasm for a week or so?
Here is the big question: When a tree falls in the forest....how many days does it take before anyone notices that the tree actually fell?

Hopefully tomorrow from what Bennnnn said and the tweet from VZWNetwork.
