Froyo ETA Set

quick question guys, when the official froyo drops on the X we should just be able to install it over this one, using the same method correct? That is if we cant just do an OTA update

Any other wifi issues? My wifi here at my office on my X is now a trainwreck since 2.2. Not sure it's an issue with my ISP (my work pc's connection seems fine) - or what's up.

actually both my wifi and regular radio seem a lot better since the update.

Okay, Rootexplorer is not working anymore, with rooted 2.2...

Yeah I just saw that problem myself. sucks

***UPDATE** got it working had to change the file when you first log in to root explorer(before system/app) to mount r/w now it works fine

Deleted and readded the network - and changed my security to WPA/WPA2 mixed on the router and all seems well now. Weird....probably shoulda just done a full system wipe after 2.2 but I'm too lazy to set up all my stuff again. :)

Seem to be getting intermittent lock ups while interfacing with the phone so I'm going to go ahead and do the wipe. This won't effect the SD Card right? So I should still have all my pictures and videos I've taken? It'll just wipe the apps? Email settings etc

Man, If I were Moto I would hold off Froyo as long as possible just to read these threads. They are way to entertaining to kill them with the actual update. Just think - after the update these threads turns into... "FROYO - What was all the hype about?", "WTF - Moto, why did YOU pump this up so much", "GPS bug still not fixed - THEY said it would be", "DROID X - The Verizon Flagship? How Could It Be - FROYO wasn't stock", "I'm dumping my DX for the FLAGSHIP Samsung!", "BLUR still stinks on 2.2 - someone told me it wouldn't!".

Yay, I bricked my phone somehow... (sigh)

I re-flashed via SBF, then applied the update and now all I get is the dang Motorola logo, I can't even get to recovery...

Anyone have an idea?

Okay, I got to recovery, but still seem to be having issues booting. :(

Sorry to hear it. I'm wanting some Froyo but I just don't feel comfortable enough (I know my limitations). I can't afford to lose my lifeline productivity device even for one day. Will have to wait for the official OTA.

Another 2.2 question.

When using Pure Grid calendar - it asks to use the google 1.5-2.1 calendar or 2.2. Should I change mine to 2.2? The old setting is 1.5-2.1 seems to still work so I'm not sure what difference it'd make switching it to 2.2. Any ideas?

Just did... still the same issue. Does it normally take a LONG time to boot or something after an OS patch like this? Should I just wait it out for 5-10 minutes?

Yes, in my experience OS updates and recovery typically have a long reboot cycle the first time booting up. After that it goes quick. I'd wait a good 10-15 min before rebooting.

Since you probably already shut it off after the reboot, I'd do a recovery wipe again, and then let it sit for 10-15 min. Are you waiting at the M or the eye?

Alright things I noticed. lock screen is different. Can now take pics and video by touching the screen. Quick office and Vznavgator come preinstalled
