VZW's latest ad with the pole dancing fascinate made no mention of android or google. It's being targeted to a less tech savvy group. I know two people that have it and they really like it. They had no idea what android was when they bought it.
That beeing said, it would do vzw little good to advertise the X only to further frustrate people with more delays. I'm sure that as the holidays get closer we will be hearing DRRROOOOOIIIID from our tvs much more often

Especially when they are finally "complete" - ie: what was originally touted in July.

According to Motorola... no. But it might be able to, just not officially supported. (i.e. - If it doesn't 100% work, don't complain to them.)

At this point nobody knows for sure. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk.

Sounds to me like the big delay be a bickering between Google and VZW about Bing...... not the exchange issues that were rumored. I wouldnt put it past VZW to want to tout Bing and hold up Froyo over such thing.

I don't think this article is right. VZW came out and said Bing is only going to be on lower end Android devices, if any. The actual "Droid" line will be Google Experience devices, which means Google Maps, Search, etc.

This article looks like it was written by a 12 year old making wild accusations. I bet the author got their information from these boards lol.

Exactly Stang. All these off-shoot news sites seem like they're ran out of Hong Kong and look like a breeding ground for infections from viruses and all sorts of malware. I strongly advise against going to them as not only is the information poorly presented, but there isn't even any sources to back it up. Most of it looks like someone just regurgitating what they read elsewhere, manipulating it to what they think is going on and then call it a news post.

I'm gonna go with Official Froyo release better be this week, or else...

Given the hints that have been dropped on the official forums from the mod, as well as the fact that he was working today this weekend (he posted on some other unrelated topic) strongly suggests we'll be seeing the OTA sooner rather than later. Guess we'll see Monday...

Wouldn't mind the update sooner rather than later, but for what it's worth, I'm pretty happy right now.

Coming from the Storm2 (which worked fine, not bashing), I have a lot of catching up to do and for goodness sake, there is a lot to catch up on. Speed, choice, look and feel, it's pretty amazing at the amount of fun, function and usability my DX delivers.

For any of you old BB users, there's a mindset change that has to take place. The initial response most people have is "Why can't this thing do what my BB does?" and the answer is pretty simple, it's not a blackberry, it's a Droid. Don't approach it from a blackberry perspective, you have to zero out your expectation that the Droid is going to do it the blackberry way. Just think of what you want done, go find an app that does it (the built in apps are fine for most everything) and then learn how to use it. Doesn't take long.

Once I changed my expectation, I found out I was getting more and better results from the Droid than the BB. Not the same, different and better.

Anyway back on topic. When 2.2 shows up, I'm there, leaks? Maybe if the official doesn't come soon. But right now, I'm just enjoying life with Droid.

I think they are working hard to make sure every aspect of 2.2 is locked down. What? You want to use your phone - LOL - that costs extra!!!
